N14 for me is still unusable due to the fixed cycle range and the double click to remove it. The issue is that this behaviour breaks the loop mixing function in the automation window, which I constantly use and is necessary in post.
And yes, I’m aware that someone has a workaround with a macro but as many others I don’t want to add a click more to each mixing passage (it will be at least 300 clicks more in a 30 min documentary).
How long does it need for an update with the option to remove the fixed selection range? Or there are already improvements which I’m not aware of?
Unfortunately this behaviour of the cycle range has not been restored to its original state. And from what I understand it will never be, as this is apparently not a bug, but the new way of handling things. I guess they did it to tailor the range selection more towards the new “Volume Curve” feature. I don’t see why clicking to reset the selection does interfere, but obviously Steinberg seems to think differently.
Guess we have to adapt and live with it. It had made my workflow definitely more cumbersome.
