I’m excited to share with you all some photos of a new Anglican hymnal I just completed. It’s 950 pages, with 740 hymns and extensive liturgical content that made use of Dorico’s excellent handling of open meter, among other things.
The layout was done in InDesign, with all music exported from Dorico as PDFs. I really can’t think of more than a small handful of little niche things that would have made it any easier to do!
The keyboard edition is coming sometime in early 2024, and I want to particularly thank Daniel for being willing to add some specific options for capo chords in version 5 to make that forthcoming edition shine. I truly love using this software…
Congratulations, the book looks great! 950 pages, that sounds like a lot of work, probably with all kinds of challenges. So it seems just fitting to have the right hymns and prayers ready for all those tricky situations
I’m torn between hijacking Dan’s thread and creating a new one just for this, so let me know if I should remove this post again; but here’s a bit of Dorico performance materials in action at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, for a piece of @Avner_Dorman.
Goodness grief Dan.! Looks a mighty body of work… well done.! Love seeing this kind of story; so exciting when it gets to this - the finished, presented work…
