New Cubase 14 mixing console tab has no options like Cubase 13 had

Please can you make Mixing Console tab for Cubase 14 same as it was in Cubase 13 with switching buttons for faders, inserts and sends? New Console tab is way worse and if you want to adjust some insert plugins or change fader levels its now make a lot more workspace, previous Cubase 13 style with buttons was much better. @Matthias_Quellmann

Also there is no way to hide channels and busses as it is in full Mixing Console if press F3. Can you add ability to hide channels to Tab Console as well?

The console mixer is now like the normal mixer. You configure it on the upper right corner.

You can find the cogwheel on the upper right and adjust your viewing preferences:

But you can’t hide the volume faders which take up most of the place - in my opinion lower zone mixer console should be COMPACT (minimalistic) - not a copy of main mixer console window.

That was a wish of a small amount of people who screamed very loud about it.

That’s the main reason to have a mixer.

Well… I don’t use the lower zone mixer, but switching between the faders and routing and whatever else with a ‘click’ sounds like the ticket! I might even use a feature like that in the console mixer.

What is the problem to give users the option to switch the lower zone mixer between standard mode one and minimalistic fully customisable one. Everyone is happy. That’s my point.

It’s really a bad surprise that this feature is missing in Cubase 14! I switch a lot between inserts, sends and faders when using the lower zone mixer. Please bring that back!

same here, it was very nice option. I would like to have it in 14 as well.

Some cried about the old behavior. Nobody stated that they like it how it was before, so there was no reason to keep the old design, until now.

The customization was a very good idea.
However the removal of the different tabs was a terrible idea.
Having multiple individually customizable tabs would have been the best idea. :man_shrugging: :trophy: :bulb:

I guess the compromise would be to have 4 buttons to the left instead of the original 3 with the added one being the current state and maybe a lock option to make it default.

Yes, this update will cause me to develop a new habit in my work flow when I am working on a laptop. I often used the Page Selector to see all the Inserts when mixing and trying different plugins. Now I will have to open and close the entire Mix Console.

However, I am still loving the this update.

This is not effective on a small screen like a laptop.

Not in the lower zone. The point there is to ideally offer a compact version of the mixer, because space is a premium. Currently you can only minimise the upper part of the mixer, which ends up hiding the things you really need to get to (inserts, sends etc).

Ideally the faders would be scalable. As it stands it takes up so much room of the arrange window to the point that it renders using the lower zone mixer highly impractical.

???
Why do you answer to me? I don’t get it.

Not in the lower zone; the main reason to have a mixer there is to offer compact mixer functionality, given the smaller area to work with. Not to replicate the full mixer as is. And if it was, the fader size should be adjustable.

The previous option that was there helped with this, but was removed in 14. Full sized faders are not necessary in the lower zone mixer and take up too much space.

Did you read all of my comments? Obviously not.

You mean this?

Yeah, it was really helpful and insightful.
