No libraries found in the Steinberg Library Manager

I use Cubase 13 and Windows 11.

When I opened Steinberg Library Manager these days, it suddenly showed there is no library found at all.

So these Steinberg samples can’t be used in Cubase or Dorico or standalone.

The folder’s routing in the library manager is correct and unchanged, the licenses are good, and I didn’t make changes to the library location recently. I even reinstalled the Library Manager but still didn’t work.

Very weird. I’m thinking it might be the Windows OS issue. I remember I used to have this issue when I used MAC OS but I didn’t do anything and then after a while it was fixed on its own on Mac.

Hi,

Do you see the files (*.vstsound) in the given path (i.e., can you see the files in the File Explorer)?

Hello, yes I can see those files in my folders.

Hi,

Could you attach a screenshot from the Steinberg Library Manager too, please?

Btw, ensure, you have the correct license available.

The screenshot of the library manager was on my original post, it says “no library found”. not missing.

Here is my activation manager’s screenshot. So the license should be good.

Hi,

I don’t see HALio Symphonic Orchestra on the screenshot.

But the “No Libraries Found” message looks like it’s something bigger than just the one library.

Yeah, if some of them are not working, the library manager should at least show some other working samples, but now it doesn’t show anything.

I will see if I can fix it by redownloading those samples and reinstalling them.

Hi,

I would also try to reinstall Steinberg Library Manager (as administrator on Windows).

I did reinstall Steinberg Library Manager before but didn’t work, now the problem has been solved by redownloading and reinstalling the samples from Steinberg Download Manager.

This just happened to me. Solution: open up the folder where your libraries are, double click on any of them to register them with the Library Manager as if this was the first time you downloaded them.

You might have to go through a few different files before you’re done but for me it took about 3 minutes. Many of these libraries files seem to trigger the registration of a ton of secondary/dependent libraries. So I ended up finding only about 10 or so files I actually needed to double-click on.

Hope this helps!

This happened to me when I decided to uninstall SpectraLayers 7 after having the upgrade from 11 Pro to 13 Pro Cubase… The result is = need to download & install all the libraries again from the Download Assistance. I haven’t found any other solution, silly thing… I hope Steinberg will fix this!

100% Thanks!

Anyway, the problem is solved, but some of the icons are not showing up correctly like it was before in media bay. Plus, now all the program icons gone from the Halion Sonic. I still can use any of vst from libraries in Halion, but only icons not showing up, just a bit annoying…

I think this is likely related to the issue I raised in this thread. One should not really be required to re download their whole library, because the library manger has a bug of some sort. Steinberg need to look into this. I have just downgraded my library manager for now. Maybe the next update will fix it.
