Nuendo 12 Mac OS sonoma Graphic issues

Hi everybody,

I recently updated to mac os sonoma on my Mac mini M1 and got some Graphic issues and display errors with the user interface. The glitches disapers as soon as I resize the windows. But when I switch back and forth between mixer or edit window the problem persists. I´ve got huge glitches and It´s hard to work smoothly.
Any advice would be much appreciated. At the moment a downgrade of the OS is not an option. Because unfortunately I don´t have an up to date backup.

Cheers Naim

Wait for 14.1 which seems to fix these issues (at least for some) or be brave and reckless and install the 14.1 public beta

I am having the exact same issue :frowning: Its both cubase and Nuendo that it happens on :frowning: Very hard to work on it like this :frowning:

I am having the exact same issue with Nuendo 11. MacBook Air M2.
This must be a Sonoma problem.
Upgraded my Mac mini M1 yesterday and now it’s the same story there.

Directly from the Steinberg support site:

Therefore, until further notice, please wait to update to macOS Sonoma, especially if you depend on the smooth operation of your Steinberg product.

I think it goes without saying that updating the OS before all your software is ready is not best practice.

Hello My issue was the interface was not drawing properly :frowning: I updated to sonoma Beta and its seems to have cured the problem.

Same problem here. When you say beta do you mean a Nuendo beta or Sonoma beta?

confirming sonoma beta 14.1 fixes the graphics issue! Nuendo launches much quicker, as well!

Apple gets worse and worse with its awful updates, apparently now Sonoma wants our workstations to look like Phone. Best recent OS is Monterey IMO.

Why on earth update? Asking for trouble & I’m sure we can do just as much good work as we did last year or the year before without this constant breaking shite …

I have noticed the same problem with export.
It happens when I try to export to external drive. A walk around is to export to the internal drive. Works for me. And yes, some action from Nuendo would be appreciated.

Update to Sonoma 14.1 and everything works perfect.

Yes. 14.1 solves the graphic problems.
But the export problem is still there.

I wish I had not updated. Has caused other app issues as well.

I am having the same issue. It worked fine before upgrading to Sonoma, but now, most of the graphics doesn’t show. If I move my cursor over the controls, most of them reappear, and scrolling the timeline will also cause it to reappear. Thanks for the tip about resizing the window; that makes everything reappear. Everything else works with Sonoma, only Nuendo has this issue. There is some incompatibility between Sonoma and Nuendo. I am running Nuendo 12.0.70.

Since the graphics problem has been fixed with an Apple update I’ll close this topic. Continue in: Nuendo and macOS 14 (Sonoma)
