Nuendo 25 Years Sale - 50% off Nuendo (and SpectraLayers). Thank you for the journey & outlook 2026!

Dear forum members,

This month we’re celebrating 25 Years Of Nuendo with special offers on Nuendo (and SpectraLayers)!

The journey.
How time flies! It all started in 2000 with Nuendo 1 and now, 25 years later, we’re at version 14! The product saw an eventful journey through 3 company ownerships. The year it was released, Steinberg was still owned by it’s founders, Charlie Steinberg and Manfred Rürup. Nuendo then saw challenging times at Pinnacle and with Steinberg’s acquisition finally joined the YAMAHA group in 2005. Soon after, it’s little brother, Nuendo Live, was born, which is shipping with YAMAHA consoles and is enjoying growing popularity in a variety of other live recording occasions.

Over the years, Nuendo has set many milestones. It’s been an early supporter of multichannel formats, folder-, grouping-, and multi-export systems, incorporated an ADR system, introduced the worlds’s first interface to the game world through GameAudioConnect (which is now also freely available as an SDK), has been the first DAW to integrate Atmos, MPEG-H and more immersive sound features, up to Transcription technology and Auto-Mix balancing in Nuendo 14.

All these innovations and milestones would not have been possible without your support, your criticism, and your valuable input. You continue to motivate us to make the most of the product within our capabilities. On behalf of the ProAudio team, I would like to thank you very much for this. Rest assured that we will continue to work on innovative and practical features, not forget about bug fixing, and keep prices stable (10 years ago, Nuendo cost almost €2,000, and updates started at €300).

Together with you, we want to continue writing Nuendo’s success story. And that’s why there will soon be great news about some large-scale installations that will further strengthen Nuendo’s position.

The year 2026 will be exciting, because alongside a fresh Nuendo 15, the only official Nuendo System Operator Certification Program for post-production and game audio will be launched. More news to follow! We will also start working on an official Nuendo Studio Business overview webpage, listing Nuendo-supporting companies across the world. We’d be happy to put your company on the list!

Finally, please feel free to share a bit about your story with Nuendo!

Thanks again for your support – and here’s to the next 25!

Kind regards,
Timo

Been with Nuendo since v3 and before that on Cubase - (when it was just a sequencer with no audio)- the love for steinberg is strong over here. Keep up the amazing work.

I’m a happy user of Nuendo since V1.5. It’s been great to see all the changes and improvements of the product over the years.
Since I’m already a license owner the Nuendo sale doesn’t have an impact on me, however I am interested in a Spectralayers sale but don’t see anything on the website yet?

Edit: Never mind, found a voucher in my account.

Thanks Timo, really appreciate it! I’ve been a Nuendo user since version 4 and it’s never given me a reason to return to my old DAW. It continues to power my daily work on films and shows for Disney, Netflix, and other major networks.

Great Pricing!
As a long term Cubase Pro 14 user, if i buy the Nuendo 14 Crossgrade from Cubase Pro 14, can i still upgrade my Cubase Pro 14 to Cubase Pro 15 and beyond as they get released? I do collabs with other Nuendo users so looks like a great time to grab a copy at a great price

Hello, what great news about this promotion!

I’m a Cubase 14 user and have been since version 9. Today, I’d like to upgrade to Nuendo 14.
I’d like to know if, when making the upgrade, my Cubase 14 license will be replaced by the Nuendo one, or if both licenses will be kept.
Mostly, I’d just like to know if you could please explain this a bit more before I decide to go ahead with the upgrade.

Hello, yes, you keep your Cubase license and could update separately from Nuendo.

I still have my full boxed versions of Nuendo 1 and Nuendo surround edition sat on my shelf here in the studio, complete with full printed manuals and large dongle, can’t even remember what that port was called!!! I can’t bring myself to throw them in the trash, they’re things of beauty/quality….what do you do with things like this?

That was the old “parallel port”, which was originally meant to be used for printers

Keep them… that is what I do

Thanks so much, dear Timon! I’ll be upgrading to Nuendo 14 to celebrate this anniversary in style! Let’s celebrate in a big way!

Me too, 1.5. It speaks my language like no other DAW.

Looks like I will be upgrading after all.

Got to keep those testing those optimisaitons on my lowly Kaby Lake Laptop, with business (not media) grade chipset.

Thank you so much Michel for your support over all these years!

Great to celebrate 25 years of Nuendo!
I’m also a long time user and got stuck on Nuendo 12, because it is super stable on my system! So therefore I didn’t activate my Nuendo 14 license yet which I purchased a time ago. So will it then be eligible for grace period update when Nuendo 15 is released?

Hahaha…..a real conundrum!

I’d say, find a latter Packard Bell (just to bring up heated arguments circa turn of the century) with lpt port, install a hotrodded Windows2000…..install Nuendo 1…… and fly!!

Well….as much as you can on a computer with parallel port but next to nothing ram capability. I can envision you maybe getting at least 5 audio tracks happening at the same time on a good day

I suppose there are winXp computers that have parallel ports. That would be somewhat more interesting. I’ll have to look at the backs of my room full of never-toss-a-working-computer herd to remember which ones have/had lpt ports.

rip dot matrix okidata 393 printers

are we 2 months away or 10-12 months away from nuendo 15 that’s the big question

because the upgrade from cubase 14 makes it impossible to not buy now and sit on it
