I updated nuendo live 2 to nuendo live 3 in July this year and I am encountering some problems. A lot of times it just stops recording with some “audio dropout problem”. It makes this software quite useless, while there where no problem with version 2 and other daws. It occurs with different soundcards (behringer wing desk, waves soundgrid, rme madiface …), so I would exclude sound card problems…
Are ther any known issues regarding this?
I wrote to support but it is kind of a bs… they cannot even find my account and just closed the ticket…
Hi, I have also been encountering this problem for a while; looking for help. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Nuendo live software in addition to a complete wipe of my Mac Studio as I thought that could be the problem, which it is not. I use a yamaha Cl5 console with it.
I cannot reach support on this problem, looping in Steinberg endlees redirections with support, at the end, support mail in my country is down… any idea, how can I reach Steinberg?
I’m experiencing the same issue.
MacBook Air M2 16 GBs
I use an external drive.
Dante Soundcard Audio Channel 64x64
Dante Latency 10ms
Network Status 1Gbps
Same problem here !
Many colleagues too, and not just one.
I Use (ed) it with CL3 / CL5 and QL Series.
Works just fine on Commercials for Steinberg and Yamaha.
No Support !
For now I use ProTools till the Problem is fixed.
But it looks like that will never happen.
I have used Nuendo Live 3 to record three different shows on an M1 MacBook Pro and have encountered this same issue each time. I have subsequently recorded a show in Reaper, using the same laptop and from the same Digico S31, with no problems.
I submitted a support request regarding this issue. In response, I have been informed that the issue has been escalated to the developers. It will be interesting to see if anything comes of this.
Same thing is happening to me with Nuendo live 3 running on a MacBook Pro M3 Pro and Yamaha Rivage PM5. Running DVS 64x64 at 6ms. It also happens at 10ms. I would say once out of 5 times. Going to report this to Yamaha Rivage Support tomorrow so they put pressure on Steinberg to fix this ASAP.
I was told, in response to my support ticket, that this was a reproducible problem and that an upgrade was being considered to resolve this known issue. That was over a month ago.
As you say, stability is absolutely key and, in its current state, Nuendo Live 3 is totally unstable, which makes it totally unusable.
When running on Apple Silicon with Dante: which driver do you use for the card? The drivers from audinate aren’t ARM64 compatible, as far as I know? Is there a workaround?
And: did anyone try to run Nuendo Live 3 with Rosetta Mode enabled? (right-click Application → Info → checkbox Rosetta). On my MacStudio M1 Ultra, this seems to solve the recording issue (I’m using a 94 IO RME UFX+ with buffers at 512@96 kHz).
Yes, it’s running native :). The Rosetta mode could help as a workaround - and it would also be interesting for the developers to have confirmed that it’s a Silicon only issue.
Thank you! I thought you were running the PCIe Dante card. I’ll see if I can reproduce the recording error with the DVS (I missed the info in your post, my bad).
after having various conversations with dev teams, we can just recommend to use NLive 3 under Rosetta Mode. The problem is that reproducing the bug isn’t stable. Despite numerous attempts and analyses, we haven’t been able to determine (yet) why this works on some systems but not others. This only affects Silicon.
We won’t give up and will continue working on a solution, but we can’t provide details on the timescale at the moment. Just to be very transparent on the current status.
I truly apologize for the inconvenience caused at the moment.
This happpened to me last night, NL3 stopped 3 or 4 times, the first time I didn’t know that it stopped, my laptop screen had Smaart up, by the time I saw what happened I lost half an hour of program for a show that will never happen again… I just got this working with my DM7 and was pretty happy until this happened. The console integration was nice too… I’ve had weird issues with pro tools and logic as well at times. I guess I’ll try this new one, Harrison live trax 2, maybe reaper… waves tracks live is too old.
