Open Project. Last 5% of timeline ALWAYS off the right edge of the screen, for years now

This is on PC Win7/10/11 with Cubase 9/10/10.5/11/12/14/15.

Doesn’t matter what I try:

  • Set Project length accurately.

  • Zoom timeline to FULL before saving project.

  • Set the opening preferences to ALWAYS last view.

Every time you reopen the project, the last 5% or so of the timeline is off the right hand edge of the screen.

If the project is zoomed in, it worked ‘almost’ accurately, but it still slightly out. But with a ‘zoomed full’ project it is always wrong.

Can we get this sorted please. It’s kinda annoying. Yes I have hadware controllers and I can zoom full with a single button press of a button, but that’s not the point.

Please sort this out.

And please don’t point me to the previous post about this - I wrote it in 2018. This was ignored by the devs then - hopefully this time it will be acted on. As a previous software dev I’d have to suggest that surely this is one of the simpler things to fix?

Below is my 2018 Cubase 9.5 post on the subject. It’s been a while and doesn’t reflect well on Steinberg’s bug tracking and management that such a simple bug has been around for at least 7 years.

I would consider adding feature-request to your post.

Done, and thanks. :+1:

Just to add: There are further situations in Cubase where we can encounter the “almost 100%” phenomenon.
Under certain circumstances in the sample editor.
When using certain commands for vertical zooms.
