i have a problem with mediabay, it doesn’t display sounds in folder, even though I changed the folder location, it still doesn’t work, can you help me please?
Anybody found problems after updating to 12.0.70? It looks like panning does not work anymore.
For me, panning works with Cubase 12.0.70 here.
I (Windows 10 Home, Version 22H2, Build 19045.3155) have no problems.
My experience is, that after an update you should
- restart your computer
- delete all program preferences as described below
- restart your computer again
Disabling the Preferences.
part 3. of “Disabling the Preferences” = Delete program preferences
Deletes the preferences and opens the program with the factory default settings instead. This process cannot be undone. Note that this affects all versions of Cubase installed on your computer.
If that still doesn’t help, then maybe set the FaderPort again to “Studio One” mode and see if the script is in the right folder.
It worked for me now! But I needed to remove completely Cubase and clean reinstall.
Thanks CKB!
Hello all,
I have uploaded a new update of the script with two new features:
-
If you press the Rotate Knob in Zoom Mode, a zoom full out (to 100%) is triggered.
-
Because on the FaderPort for some buttons the LED-color and the LED-brightness can be programmed, I have adapted the colors and brightness in an ergonomic sense.
The following colors are now assigned to the different modes and other functions:
Pan Mode = yellow
Channel Mode = white
Scroll Mode = green
CR Volume Mode = orange
Nudge Mode = blue
Marker Mode = blue
Hitpoint Mode = purple strong
activate knob for value under mouse = purple soft
value is locked = purple soft flashing
Zoom Mode = white
toggle motorfader functionality = purple soft
open Channel Editor = cyan soft
open Instrument Editor = cyan strong
The new functional overview now shows, to which mode which color belongs.
The zip-file contains the new version of the script and the new version of the functional overview.

Hi CKB, thanks again for your improvements.
I’ve been having a problem updating the script, I don’t know if it’s an issue for someone else.
What I do is that I disable the script in Cubase, and then open the folder where Cubase stores the file “Presonus_Faderport.js” and replace it. When I enable it again, the features have been not updated.
I’ve tried deleting the script, but then I’m not able to import it using only the .js file that you provided. What I had to do is to use the last WEM’s update that has a “.midiremote” file, but then I have that version and not your last one.
Someone knows how to update the script without having this issue?
Regards.
Brau
Hi Braulio,
I don’t work with a “.midiremote” file.
I only copy the file Presonus_Faderport.js in a specific folder.
The path of the specific folder depends on your system drive, your username and your country.
Example:
system drive = C:
username = elvis
country = Germany
Then the path of the specific folder is:
C:\Users\elvis\Dokumente\Steinberg\Cubase\MIDI Remote
\Driver Scripts\Local\Presonus\Faderport\
When (according to the example) Cubase is installed, this path already exists:
C:\Users\elvis\Dokumente\Steinberg\Cubase\MIDI Remote
\Driver Scripts\Local\
So you have to create the other two folders Presonus and Faderport.
When you’ve copied the file Presonus_Faderport.js to the specific folder, the full path of it is:
C:\Users\elvis\Dokumente\Steinberg\Cubase\MIDI Remote
\Driver Scripts\Local\Presonus\Faderport\Presonus_Faderport.js
The next steps you make in Cubase.
Updating the script later only means to replace the file Presonus_Faderport.js in the specific folder.

Hi all,
here is another (major) update of the script…
These were my last additions and adjustments:
- Shift + Bypass Button as “toggle enable / disable of all selected tracks”
- Shift + Write Button as “toggle write automation of all selected tracks”
- Shift + Read Button as “toggle read automation of all selected tracks”
- Press 2x Stop Button now as “if stopped, return to last start” like the original Steinberg CC121 controller
- Shift + Arm Button now as “unarm all audio tracks”
- Shift + Pan as a new “Hitpoint Mode” for to navigate through hitpoints with the following functions:
- a) go to nearest hitpoint left with the Prev Button
- b) go to nearest hitpoint right with the Next Button
- c) scroll through hitpoints with the Rotate Knob
- d) insert marker at current position by pressing the Rotate Knob
- Press Rotate Knob in Zoom Mode now as “zoom full out horizontally”
- adjustments of the colors and the brightness of the LEDs as previously described in an ergonomic sense
- the adjustment, that as long as the value under mouse is locked, the Channel-LED flashes
Now I had noticed, that a very important function is still missing: navigating from event to event. For this, I implemented an Event Mode with the following functions:
- Prev Button = go to nearest event left
- Next Button = go to nearest event right
- Rotate Knob = scroll through events
- Press Rotate Knob = toggle monitor state
The Event Mode is on the Main Page and can be activated with the Section Button.
The Nudge Mode has been moved to the Shift Page and can be activated with Shift + Section Button.
For quantizing, I implemented a Quantize Mode with the following functions:
- Prev Button = select previous Q preset
- Next Button = select next Q preset
- Rotate Knob = scroll through Q presets
- Press Rotate Knob = set Q to 4th
The Quantize Mode is located on the Shift Page and can be activated with Shift + Click Button.
Now you can quickly reach also triplet quantizations and with Press Rotate Knob you can quickly reach the 4th quantization quasi as a reset.
Due to the implementation of the Quantize Mode, two buttons in the Shift Mode are now free for user assignments: Shift + Master Button and Shift + Marker Button.
I also removed today the flickering that occurred when switching between the Main Page and the Shift Page.
I hope everything is in your sense.
The zip-file contains the new version of the script and the new version of the functional overview.

Hi all,
I just uploaded a quality update of the script.

Thank you CKB and WEM for all the hard work on this!
Hi all,
I just uploaded a new quality update of the script.
There was one issue in the script version before: In a few cases, the zoom LED was not illuminated.
You can find the zip-file [14.07.2023 - 10:26 MEZ] in the last big post.
For the next time I will try to implement an EQ Mode.

Awesome work! I have a suggestion for the master mode; that a push on the button returns CR level to 0. Could that be an idea?
Hello CKB,
Please help me…what am I doing wrong?
The Problems are:
- When Faderport 1(vs 3.74) is “on” and I’m starting the Cubase (12.0.60 / win11) it stops loading when “Mackie Control” shows in the window. I turn the Faderport to “off” and the loading continues.
- When I – for instance – duplicate a channel the system “feezes”, I have to turn Faderport to “off” and then the channel shows up. The same behaviour when adding an FX-channel or a group-channel.
- Still (as described in my post from the 15.April on the WEM site) the Recording-Button does not behave like the “x” on the keyboard. It starts the recording immidiatly and not at the “In-Point”, when I´m using pre-roll
I guess there is something that I did wrong, but it’s not that I forgot to put the fp-setup to “Studio-One”…I did that!
I’m still using WEMs script from 16.01.2023 because any newer script seems to make it more unstable…
I’m a little desperate because Werners and your scripts are SO GREAT !
Maybe it’s just a little installation-fault that I made.
Is there any installation-describition “for dummies”? …or for german dummies?
My system is very new and fast and it only runs for cubase12 pro (which itself runs without any problems).
I also asked Werner but he is busy as we know.
So, thank you very much for your great work and maybe you have any advice for me.
Love & Peace , Volker
Hello hegerber,
I need much more often the existing function.
Also, I think it could be problematic if you are just working with the level turned way down and then pushing the button to 0 dB might result in a much too high level.
Best regards
CKB
Hello Volker_Petersen,
You should reset your Cubase 1x completely, since you had made a qualitiy update. For that, see my post here 19 days ago with the content “delete all program preferences”.
What exactly is your problem, I can’t reproduce. Maybe your keyboard interferes with the FaderPort.
Now to your recording problem:
The Start Button and the Record Button on the FaderPort are exactly synchronized with the Start Button and the Record Button of Cubase. So what the FaderPort does, depends only on Cubase, not on your keyboard.
If you want to do a punch-in recording, where you want to hear something beforehand and it switches to record exactly when the punch-in/out range (= typically the locator range) is reached, you need to have the punch-in-function turned on (i.e. the icon with the triangle over the dot) and press Play, not Record. This is how it works for me.

Hi all,
here is a new major update of the script…
First about a question (Who is CKB?) I was asked once in connection with the Steinberg Forum:
We are two: Christian and Christine, and we are both musicians and composers. Me (Christian), who worked here on the script for the PreSonus FaderPort, I also work in computer science.
To bring the FaderPort closer to the functionality of the original Steinberg CC121 controller, I have now implemented an EQ Mode.
By pressing Shift + Master you enter to the EQ Mode. The four buttons Link, Pan, Channel, Scroll now represent the four equalizers EQ1, EQ2, EQ3, EQ4. Pressing one of these buttons activates (LED = red) or deactivates (LED = blue) the corresponding EQ. When an EQ LED is flashing, this EQ is selected and the rotate knob can be used to adjust an EQ parameter of this EQ. The EQ parameter can be selected with the buttons Click for Gain, Section for Freq and Marker for Q. To select another EQ, the relevant EQ button may need to be pressed twice.
By pressing the Master button or the Shift button you exit the EQ Mode; after that, the Pan Mode is active. When you enter to the EQ Mode, the selected EQ parameter is Gain. These fixed rules of button navigation have proven to be beneficial when working with Cubase; they are based on the most common scenarios. Of course you can also navigate through tracks in the EQ Mode with the Prev button and the Next button.
While the EQ Mode is active, the functionality of the Upper Section and the Transport Section is the same as in the Shift Mode, only the motorized fader is assigned as in the Main Mode to the volume of the selected track.
Further additions:
- By pressing Shift + Marker now you can open the Markers Window.
- During a footswitch recording, now the Record LED is flashing.
- When leaving Cubase, now the motorized fader will shut down if the motorized fader functionality was not turned to off by Shift + Touch.
- I have renewed the internal handling of the rotate knob, because there were known stability problems before. Thus, the previous workarounds are no longer necessary.
Known issues:
- The communication between the FaderPort and Cubase can be temporarily interrupted, when a context menu is open in Cubase.
So now the script has grown up to about 3450 lines from about 1950 lines since WEMs last update in April 2023.
The zip-file contains the new version of the script and the new version of the functional overview.
Best regards

I am astonished with you contribution making Faderport perfect. Presouns should pay you. I bought faderport because of your work.
Hi,
I’m trying to record volume automation with the fader in touch mode.
“Feature Request”
I think could be helpful to maintain de touch mode while I have my finger over the fader, like holding the mouse button over the fader in the screen.
Regards,
Lluís
Hi Lluís,
Do you mean by “touch mode” the “Shift Mode”?
If so: In “Shift Mode” the fader of the FaderPort always has the function “modify value under mouse”, except in EQ Mode. This should stay like this.
But there is a simple solution for your wish:
If you want to record the volume as automation data in Shift Mode, in Cubase you have to open the mixer during your automation data recording and move the mouse over the respective fader of your desired track/channel in the mixer; with this, the fader of the FaderPort is synchronized with Cubase. Like this you can record the volume as automation data for multiple tracks/channels in one session by moving the mouse from fader to fader in the mixer, the way you want.
Best regards
CKB
Hi all,
here comes another new update of the script.
With this you can modify the click level with the FaderPort.
The click level is the value that you set in Cubase in the Metronome Setup on the second page with the parameter Audio Click Level.
On the FaderPort it works like this:
On the Main Page the Click button has a toggle functionality as before.
If you have switched the click to ON, it is now the case that only the Click LED is lit. Then you could modify the click level with the rotate knob. That’s how it is in practice, that you hear the click after switching it on and then you often want to adjust it immediately louder or softer.
In the meantime you can switch between the tracks/channels as usual with the Next and Prev buttons.
If you have modified the click level as desired or if you just want to turn it on, you can press any other button afterwards.
If the click is switched to OFF, the FaderPort automatically jumps back to the previous Mode. This reduces the need for button presses to a minimum.
I also removed some more flicker effects and cleaned up the code.
The zip-file contains the new version of the script (3677 lines) and the new version of the functional overview.
Best regards
CKB
Addendum - 24.08.2023
I have added some more extensions today :
- Pressing the Pan Button 2x on the Main Page sets pan of the selected track to center.
- Pressing the Master Button 2x on the Main Page sets CR master volume to 0 dB.
- And I have improved the internal handling of the rotate knob once more.
