This is awesome, Christian! Thank you so much for the great news about the next update!
*** update news ***
Hi friends,
there is another major improvement planned for the next update. But I have to try out a few things before I can implement it, because it doesnāt normally work with MIDI Remote, e.g. a new self-learning function.
Everyone is talking about artificial intelligence these days, so it would be good if we could make our FaderPorts also a bit smarter tooā¦
In this case, I want the FaderPort to learn which tracks it has, so that I can build (finish) a new functionality (I call it QuickTracks) that doesnāt exist in Cubase yet, but would be very useful for single-fader controller users, because this function would also compensate some advantages of a multi-fader controller.
I think I can manage this and I have already defined the goal of how those QuickTracks and the learning function (= check all tracks) should be operated. There will be four variable QuickTracks and two fixed ones (first track and last track) that can be controlled globally (from any Mode) with key combinations. For flexible use, there will also be a new function that can be used to lock/unlock the Stop Button function.
In addition, the Send Mode and the Custom Mode will now be globally accessible.
Here is the functional overview of the planned update - of course everything should fit on a single page as usual, so the design has been changed a bit:

*** update news ***
To what I had written here:
But I have to try out a few things before I can implement it, because it doesnāt normally work with MIDI Remote, e.g. a new self-learning function.
Fortunately, the various tests were successful,
but (sorry) it will still be a while before the update is released hereā¦
Hello CKB,
I have looked at various controllers and seen what scripts are available for them.
Iāve actually already decided on the PreSonus FaderPort and your script, but Iām still a little unsure whether I might end up in a situation where I want a bit more hardware in the future.
Thatās why I wanted to ask you if you have something like a future hardware strategy for yourself, in case you want to expand your hardware and buy more devices from other manufacturers, for example. Do you already have certain devices in mind for such a case?
Hi butterfly,
I still have some more ideas in the background how I would like to extend the fp-wizard script for the FaderPort in the future. This will also determine whether it should ever become necessary to purchase additional hardware.
Of course I also observe the market and regularly look at what new controllers are available, but then I am only interested in controllers that do not overlap with the FaderPort in terms of functionality. The FaderPort should always remain the āheartā of my music production. So, for example, no other controller should have a transport section. It is also important that rotary knobs are not simple potentiometers, but high-quality encoders. Quality is important.
To your question: I find the following devices interesting:
āElgato Stream Deck XLā - in case the Custom Mode of fp-wizard is no longer big enough for me and it therefore also makes sense for me that additional functions can be found quickly on a device via image.
āIntech Studio EN16ā - in case I ever get into a situation where I have to constantly tweak all the EQ parameters very often, for example. But at the moment I only do that so often that I get on very well with the EQ Mode of fp-wizard.
āIntech Studio EF44ā - I find this controller interesting. I could imagine that some synthesizer plug-ins could be played āliveā in a creative way with this device. But - at the moment I can already control four parameters (FaderPort: Fader + Rotate Kob with a fast switching option, Keyboard: Pitch Bend + Modulation Wheel) at the same time. More at once is not possible anyway, so this is ok for me.
More motorized faders - in case I need more faders at some point. In this case, I would only buy an extension, not a completely new device with a basic control section. The Behringer X-Touch Extender and the Icon P1-X Extender are currently available cheaply, but I donāt like either device. Other such devices are sure to come onto the market, perhaps even an extender from PreSonus. In any case, it wouldnāt be a problem for me to combine the single-fader FaderPort with an extension from another manufacturer. This would even have many advantagesā¦
Best regards
CKB
Oh, thank you very much for your quick reply, CKB.
But - sorry - I still have two questions:
Would anything have to be changed in your script if I were to buy one of the devices you mentioned in addition to the FaderPort? Could there otherwise be technical conflicts?
Is there anything special I should pay attention to when ordering a FaderPort?
No, nothing needs to be changed in the script. I have programmed all functions of the Rotate Knob of the FaderPort bidirectionally. Therefore, conflicts are excluded, even if another controller and the Rotate Knob of the FaderPort would control the same parameter. As already mentioned, it is important that another controller is not equipped with simple potentiometers, but with encoders.
Yes. I recently bought me a second FaderPort and noticed that there the Moderfader is a little slightly quieter than with my older Faderport. The production date of the older Faderport is C012111 (week 11 of year 2021) and of the newer Faderport it is C012346 (week 46 of year 2023). So if you have the option, you should specify when ordering that a device with a more recent production date is to be delivered to you.
Thank you, CKB.
And good luck with the completion of the next update of fp-wizard.
Thanks. I see a light at the end of the tunnelā¦
Hello, I am currently using the latest update of WEM. When trying to use your latest update (when replacing the .JS file), I get a line error in the code⦠Iām attaching an image so you can help me⦠Iāve tried all your updates and always get some error in the .js file. Is it possible that Iām doing something wrong when loading the script?
Hi, I find it so disappointing (amazing really) that itās possible to buy a new Presonus Faderport 2 but we canāt simply plug it in and use it in Cubase 13. It seems we have to mess about installing scripts etc. Is it worth the hassle?
Hi trecEstudio.522ksk8,
which Cubase version do you have installed?
The current version Cubase 13.0.41?
Yes, I think so,
As there are various scripts here and there, thereās no getting around it. I understand that this can be annoying, but if you find a good script, itās worth it.
And the script has to be installed into Cubase?
Yes,
here is the link to the post with the last version.
You find something important in the setup-file in the zip-file.
Maybe it will be good if you watch also a video on youtube, what MIDI Remote is generally about.
Ah, no, Iām using Cubase 12.
So you have to install the newest Version of Cubase 12, itās Version 12.0.70
With this, I have no loading errors.
Perfect, so I should install that version of Cubase, or directly version 13. By any chance, is there any current script that works with version 12.0.4? To avoid reinstalling Cubase
If you are working with Cubase 12, you must install the latest Cubase patch from Steinberg, so that version 12.0.70 is installed, otherwise there could be problems.
Just installing the patch is quick, itās not a new installation.
You can find the patch in Steinbergās Download Manager under Cubase 12.
Thank you so much !!! Very kind !
