I’m working 9 to 5 with Cubase and this behavior is driving me nuts. It makes the DAW feel janky, amateurish, irritating and fatiguing. It should be fixed.
My +1
- Real warp multitrack
- Toolbox in 2 Lines…
Have they not just introduced multitrack freewarp to wavelab so hopefully…

real bummer for all songwriting sessions.
+1. Cmon Cubase 12, make it happen!
It definitely makes me reluctant to make any changes at all to my music… I’ll want to add something… but I don’t want to throw myself out of the groove when I’m digging the music too lol… so having those hiccups really slows down my workflow. And yeah, it’s embarrassing when you’re showing off a track live to someone and you need to make an edit or they want to test something or whatever.
this FR topic is from 2018 and there were topics about audio gap before.
Any info if it was sorted in Cubase 12 ?
BTW, there is not only the audio interruption on so many activites in Cubase but also the GUI freeze if you add a VST plugin for instance. This is annoying to me as well…
this glitches are neglected for toooo long and for many years by steinberg.other Daws solved it years now’the tech is here to be implemented , if steinberg want users buy and support them they have to support us as well. the market have now days excellent choices of Daws that grows fast and offer whats cubase have and much more !!
Cubase 12 is here. Still no gapless playback. Such a shame.
Adding inserts is better, but not perfect still.
A gapless engine is the most voted feature request on this forum.
It is possible to notice a significant improvement in c12, but I really think this would deserve a transparent and enlightening conversation from Steinberg.
I would love to better understand all the aspects and difficulties inherent to this feature request.
Tks to all
Definitely still audio gaps when loading instruments/fx
I don’t see any difference TBH
You can do google searches such as “gapless audio in cubase 11” for example to understand the reasons for the gaps when you insert a plug. I’m not a computer guy, but based on what I have read over a few years, I’ll take the gaps when inserting a plug over how other DAW developers handle it.
I not only want a proper audio engine with gapless audio but also high quality processing.
And it’s not what you actually get for $500. Check my featured topic and you’ll see what I mean. This is a major issue but no one deigns checking it out. If I could have 170 answers, maybe Steinberg will click on it and manage to fix it in, let’s say, five to six years ? I didn’t want to be so ironic but I really can’t help it.
i don’t care the gapless audio anymore now that cubase logo changed to blue, it changes all perspectives
Comon steinberg make it happen!
+1 this issue is incredibly disruptive to workflow, if this can’t be changed at least make an option to fade the audio out and in slowly so that there aren’t these aggressive jumps all the time.

Yeah, this needs to be fixed one day!
Now that both feature requests and bug reports are to be posted in these forums, the lack of response from any Steinberg representative feels highly disturbing. This really is an issue rather than a feature request.
I am positive that any new Cubendo user who inserts a plugin on a track while the project is playing for the first time will go “What?!”.
And I don’t think the argument that it is due to Plugin Delay Compensation is valid since all the DAWs on the market that supports VST uses some version of it.
