Question about gradual tempo settings

Hi Everyone, Was wondering how to make the gradual tempo markings like Rallentando, Ritardando… abbreviated by default. Instead of having to go to the lower panel every time. Thanks, Nicolas.

And I noticed that in Engraving Option I have this

I noticed that it affects the gradual dynamics only if I input the “rall.” with the mouse clicking in the right zone, not with the popover (where you of course can directly right the abbreviated form of rall. but still).

Did I understand it correctly? What is the reason for that? (genuinely curious)

The popover allows you to enter both forms, regardless of the default.

You might be copying some old score that uses long and short forms, for some or no reason.
