Recommendations for mouse

Getting a gamer mouse with buttons… you can map key commands onto each button as well as various mouse scroll options using their software. You can also toggle the mouse profile to different user settings for each DAW you’re using. One for Protools, one for Cubase, one for dorico, and just map all the buttons for same/ similar functions. Voila!

any specific model recommendations for such mouse ?

I’ve been using the Logitech c600. They have a software that you download, customize, and there’s an option to have the mouse itself memorize the functions. Then, you can uninstall the software and the mouse will still work the same. The other brand, Razer, has a software that you have to keep onboard the box, and then the software tracks the keys that you type! (HORROR!) You can uninstall the razer software but it will still then only be 1 2 3 4 5 6 and other defaults, not what you customized.

Personally, I think I have found the perfect combination (for Windows anyway) –

The Expert Mouse Wireless Trackball along with this free software:
http://www.highrez.co.uk/downloads/XMouseButtonControl.htm – it’s like a combination mouse driver macro and scripting utility.

You can configure chording (combining) buttons perform different actions, window-title dependant actions etc., etc., etc
