I am working with a flow imported from a Finale generated mxl file. I added 6 measures at the start of the flow (in 4/4) then changed them to 3/4 (with the 4/4 at the previous start of the flow still preserved). None of the new bars where there is a note in the first bar of the original flow show rests. The bars where there was no note in the original flow show implicit (gray) rests. All of the other rest in the original flow seem to be explicit (colored blue in my case), except the unpitched percussion, which has gray rests. I have searched here in the forum and have found some related topics, but haven’t found a solution that I can get to work for me. With the bars being empty, there seems to be no way to select them to change the start or end voice properties. And I can’t select the measure before the newly added measures because they are at the start of the flow. I can insert music at the caret and that causes implicit rests to show, but if I delete the note the implicit rests go away as well. Also, if I change the start voice property while the note is there, it seems to go away when I delete the note. Also, only one stave in the new bars at the start of the flow is going to have any notes in it.
Any ideas?
