'Return to Start Position on Stop' and Metronome don't work in Editor

Here is a video of how it works on my machine.

I have a hotkey for toggling ‘Return to Start Position on Stop’ and Metronome. It looks like they are ignored when editor is focused or is in its own window. You can see that the metronome doesn’t make any sound even though it’s on. And the cursor doesn’t return even though the option is activated.

Is it a normal behaviour? If not, any ideas how to fix?

Cubase 13, by the way

It looks like whatever you’re doing to play in editor is triggering audition in the editor, not playback of the project. No metronome and no return to start seems to be normal for audition…here if I set these prefs I can open editor and can just use space bar as start stop same as in project window…and there’s the solo in editor button if you didn’t want to hear everything else.

Key commands depend on the right window being in the foreground.

Using MIDI remote commands avoids that issue.

Ok, it makes sense. Do you know if there is an option to be in a full-screen Editor, and trigger the project playback instead of audition?

Clarification: My ultimate goal is to be able to use AudioWarp / VariAudio along with the Metronome and ‘Return to Start Position on Stop’

Ok, found the solution. The preference is called “Playback Toggle triggers Local Preview” under the “Transport” section in preferences.

There was another post with a similar problem. Answered it.
