I noticed an issue with the “Save as a Template” window: it does not reflect the updated contents of the folder, even though the Hub updates correctly.
Steps to reproduce:
Save a session as a template and name it “Am I really here 01.”
Make any change to the session, then save it as a new template named “Am I really here 02.”
In the “Save as a Template” window, right-click on any template and select “Show in Finder.”
Delete the “Am I really here 01” template.
Result:
The Hub correctly reflects the changes (e.g., the deletion of “Am I really here 01”), but the “Save as a Template” window continues to display only the old templates. While the templates are indeed saved, they do not appear in this window.
I’m on Cubase 14.0.10 (14.0.5 didn’t show this behavior on my system):
Mac Studio M2 Ultra, latest Sonoma (14.7.1).
I’ve found a workaround to rescan project templates through the MediaBay, which works as a temporary solution. Were you referring to this method?
While it does the job, it’s still just a workaround, as it needs to be repeated every time changes are made to the folder. Do you know if this bug has already been reported?
I was finally able to reproduce the problem that user Project Templates do not get updated, as this thread tells. In certain situations they can still appear (likely under the “more” tab) in the Steinberg Hub, but the related folder in the MediaBay stays outdated. This will be fixed in the next Cubase / Nuendo update.
Rescanning in the MediaBay as proposed here, is the recommended workaround until the update is released.
(Note that all factory Project Templates were updated with C14 and currently do not contain any of the “Recording” category. That is a different topic.)
Dont know if this is the same but ive found that the new C14 update reads templates from 1 folder but saves to a new folder that it has created. Ive reverted to C14.05 and no longer have the issue.
I’m running into the same issue and have tried all the workarounds. I can “Save as a template” and if it exists, it will ask if I want to overwrite, but it the file doesn’t show up in the actual list of files, nor does it show in MediaBay. If I find another template and “Reveal in Finder” it’s in the same folder as my new template. I’m not sure if this is related to migrating to a new Mac using Migration Assistant but I only have this issue on one of three of my otherwise identical Mac machines. I’ve tried deleting UserPreferences, all vestiges of Cubase 13 (I’m C14 Pro), etc. and none of it seems to make a difference.
