Press F1, and you will be able to do exactly this. It will get you to this site:
… and you’ll find literally everything.
It’s literally a search engine for EVERYTHING in the application, then especially commands, and the possibility to EXECUTE these from a list from the search result (if the place you search from allow the command to be executed).
The commands should be categorized, and show the assigned key command(s) together with the command name (not illustrated in my example).
Commands not allowed to be executed directly from where the search is executed should be greyed out. If e.g. a note in an editor is selected, only commands relevant to that note can be executed. Same goes for Event, range selection etc.
Search for e.g. "Quant» present this result:
COMMANDS:
Quantize
Reset Quantize
Advanced Quantize
(And all other commands containing «quant»)
MACROS:
(result from macros containing «quant»)
PROJECT LOGICAL EDITOR:
Quantize 16th if selected
Quantize Selected Data to Eight Note
Quantize Selected Data to EightTriplet
Quantize Selected Data to Quarter Note
Quantize Start by 480 Tick if Unquantized
(And all other logical editor presets containing «quant»)
MIDI LOGICAL EDITOR:
Notes Positioning an Quantize
Quantize Quarter Notes
Randomize Position ±10 Ticks
Shift Every 2nd Note +10 Ticks
(And all other MIDI logical editor presets containing «quant»)
Have you seen what’s in Dorico? It would be nice if this made it across to other products like Nuendo/Cubase:
I think that’s the kind of thing you mean?
As an immediate work-around, you can use the list of Key Commands in a similar way.
Yes!!! Thanks, @skijumptoes - That’s what I ment to describe. THIS - in Cubase and Nuendo!
Do you know if there already is a suggestion for this in the Cubase- or Nuendo forums where we can vote?
I added “The Jump Bar in Dorico” to the title.
Based on discussions when this appeared in Dorico, I’m pretty sure that it’s already on the list to add in, but of course becomes a question of priority.
I was hoping it would be in v13, but based on the rumours last month I saw nothing about it, sadly.
