The lead vocals really cut through the mix nicely, so I was surprised to find that a dynamic mic was used in the recording. Any thoughts on this mic in general?
Needs a lot of gain, but the results are usually very good. Sits in a mix very well.
I use it on vocals and git amps.
I can only speak for the SM7B. Even though a lot of people seem to like the SM7 and SM7B, for me, its the least used mic in my studio. When recording vocals, or a guitar cab or stuff in that direction, I always end up using something else than the 7B.
Anyway I havent given up on it yet. Still trying
