Solved: Is it possible to save THIS kind of MIxer View?

I have a mixer view I want to use frequently. It involves having the Routings, the Inserts and the Sends channels all open. It’s easy to do this using Ctrl key, but when I try snapshots or mixer configurations, although these things are still there, they are all closed and I have to cntl click 3 times.
Is there a way to save this, and reuse?

thank you all

Z

Have you tried Channel Visibility Configurations?

Yes, it shows the correct layout but shuts down the open views

Try with these settings:

In Cubase 12 I can create Visibility Configurations where the only difference is what racks are expanded or not.

You use the word expanded - I was searching for this word. This is what my post is about- how to save a mixer view with the racks expanded.

Not possible then?

As I wrote above, Channel Visibility Configurations store the state of each rack (collapsed or expanded) on my end. It does require you have Link Racks to Configurations enabled.

Sadly AI tells me that the “Racks” menu - as you have described above, is no longer in Cubase 15.
I have tried the Operational Manual and Google to find “Link Racks to Configurations” function, and my own personal search of the Mixer’s menu bar, with all items on show, and I can’t find it

I’ve searched the Cubase 15 manual but I can’t find a single mention of Channel Racks!
Can you no longer select which Channel Racks are visible in Cubase??

If they removed this feature that is a massive regression in my book.

I don’t see a Racks comboBox, however I see the window layout containing these options.

The “Link Racks to Configurations” is now “Link Sections to Configurations” (I guess).

EDIT: By right clicking on a channel, you get this:

Thanks @m.c !

@ZeroZero Would you mind checking if any of those options make it to the visibility configurations?

Select Rack types is now “Set up Sections” its mostly now available available by right clicking on the top of any channel in the mixer.
It’s a bit of an aside, but I can’t send you pictures because I use Snipping tool, and as soon as I make that active, all the menus in Cubase or any other app close down". I see you can do this, could you tell me how then I can send pictures.

Hi MC,
Where/how are you finding the menu you mentioned?
I can’t find it

It’s the cogwheel at the top-right side of the window:

Have you tried to use Workspaces?

Well that goes missing if your toolbar is too crowded.! I found it now!

Alas I can confirm that the “Link Sections to configurations” does NOT help retain teh expanded sections.

As always, the user manual is unhelpfully vague:

Link Sections to Configurations

If this option is activated, the section status is taken into account when you save and load a configuration.

That is very disappointing to hear. Another Cubase regression I suppose…

I can only advice you start a new thread an tag it as a feature-request.
(Maybe we need a new tag: #bring-back-feature-request)

thank you guys

Yeah, the snipping tool doesn’t work for certain stuff like menus.

I use Microsoft Paint. It should be free with Windows.

On your keyboard press the Print Screen button.
Open Paint.
Press paste

you should get whatever you are trying to show us.
Then save as…blah blah blah

I’ve used Greenshot for the past decade or so. It’s like a super charged snipping tool and I highly recommend it.

In the snipping tool, there is the “clock” button on the right which lets you configure a delay before the snapshot starts. Set that to e.g. 5 seconds, that usually gives you enough time to switch over to Cubase and select whatever you want until snipping tool kicks in.
