Spector, Prologue & Mystic Factory Presets for Cubase 12 to 14

Finally finished off the Spector presets so now all 3 sets of Factory Presets are done. I’ll place the Spector links below, followed by a link to my previous posts with the Mystic and Prologue presets.

Windows people can just click the link and download the .zip file and extract. The presets should be extracted to

C:\Users\ {Username}\Documents\VST3 Presets\Steinberg Media Technologies\Spector\

I believe the Mac path is fairly similar.

And as a little bonus, here are links to John Walden’s tutorial/reviews for each of the 3 synths from back when they were first released in Cubase 4!

Enjoy!

Thank you so much for providing all these presets! That was very kind.

Is it possible to install the actual synths themselves in Cubase 14 if you don’t have any previous versions of Cubase?

Cheers…

Unfortunately not. You have to have owned Cubase 11 or a version back to 4, I think but I’m not sure about the first version they appeared in.

Ooops! Sorry - I just saw I linked Mystic for the zip file. It’s fixed now and will take you to the Spector zip. It was very late last night when I did this…

You have made me one happy camper! I was opening old projects with C8.5, rendering all of the Mystic/Prologue/Spector tracks then importing the audio into C14 - what a pain! Now all three synths are fully functional in C14. Thank you so much for doing all of this work and posting these!

Happy to have helped! Enjoy.

D’oh! I wasn’t thinking. Your license entitles you to previous versions of Cubase. So if you want the synths download Cubase 11 and move the file to the Cubase 14 folder. It’s VST3 so it’s in

C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Cubase 11\VST3

and is called SynthEngine.vst3

and just move it to

C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Cubase 14\VST3

You could uninstall Cubase 11 after you move the file if you want or need the space. If you do that, maybe save a backup copy of the SynthEngine.vst3 file somewhere, just in case.

Thanks for getting back to me. I’ll try what you’ve suggested.
