@Robin_Lobel Yes that works without crashing - on couple of tests that always did crash. Of course it now uses zero shared memory. Is there a way to use some of it without going over the limit that makes it crash? In this case there seems to be around 17Gb that is capable of being used presumably this will speed up the unmixing somewhat?. I appreciate that this was probably a quick fix - but are you able to fine tune further - rather than a simple all or nothing scenario?
SpectraLayers ARA path could not be found
Updating from SpectraLayers 12.0.20 to 12.0.30 breaks ARA support in Studio One Pro 7 on macOS Tahoe 26.0.1.
After updating and trying to use ARA inside Studio One, the following error is displayed:
More reports on the same issue:
According to the 12.0.30 release notes, this has been a problem before, but something must have slipped again:
SpectraLayers 12.0.30 Release Notes
The SpectraLayers 12 ARA plug-in is now installed correctly after updating from a previous SpectraLayers 11 installation (macOS only).
@Robin_Lobel I installed and tested SL 12.0.31.
Standalone and in Cubase ARA, SL 12.0.31 runs stably and without crashes when “unmixing song”!
@Henrik_Hjortnaes can you simply reinstall 12.0.30 again and let me know if that fixes the issue ?
If not, please delete the VST plugin (located in /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/) and try reinstalling SpectraLayers 12.0.30 again.
@Hooby2 Possibly, but I need to dig deeper into the vram memory allocation mechanism…
Hi Robin,
New version does not crash. Zero shared memory allocated, 4.7gb VRAM allocated but there is no GPU activity so unmix is slow. Similar performance time as selecting CPU for AI processing device in settings.
Cheers,
Has Tahoe now become supported by SpectraLayers 12?
Hello, just to let you know. When unmixing a song in highest quality mode SL 12.0.30 crashes everytime when my display goes to ‘sleep modus’. So i changed the settings to ‘never’ and then it is ok.

No – it is on the testing table
Thought so.
Hi Robin -
Yes, that seems to be working now. It’s not utilizing all of my video card’s memory though - of 11gb, it’s using about 7gb but it does now unmix without crashing.
The speed savings though is somewhat variable. With CPU only, it’s pretty consistent with about 7 minutes 30 seconds for a 3 minute song. Using the GPU, for example one song was 7 minutes (only saving 30 seconds) while another song was 6 minutes (a minute and the half faster). The songs are all indie pop style and about 3 minutes - nothing overly complex so I’m not sure what the factors are that have such variable unmix times, but I don’t care, I’m just happy that the GPU is now working and it’s faster than CPU unmixing. Thanks for sticking on solving this problem. I had it set to Auto, btw, not specifically GPU.
Some screenshots of my GPU during different times while unmixing
In order they should be -
Idle
14% umixed
56% unmixed
99% unmixed
12.0.30 - My desktop AMD 9900X CPU and RX 9070 XT 16GB GPU is still the same as the first version - no go with GPU support, except Brass!
SLP 12.0.30 with Unmix Song at highest settings and everything activated:
Song with 5:37 min takes 40 sec loading models and 1:52 min to unmix.
SLP is using 16.8 GB VRAM for that.

Robert, what are you planning to do for the end of service for Win 10?
Those are our options:
I am planning to use this:
I think as a EU Citizen, we have extended support until oct 13th 2026.
thanks for that…so you aren’t moving over to 11
ok, cool!
and we don’t ned to pay for it !
Does your SpectraLayers crash?
On my end Unmix Song works fine (also using a RX 9070 XT, but with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Win 11 Pro 24H2, 64 GB RAM), no crashes. Also, almost all settings are utilizing the GPU at least partially. Only Vocals at High quality is not GPU accelerated yet and is way slower.
