Spectralayers 7?

I decided to wait and not get any of the above offers
AND
I was rewarded. I will likely jump on this offer.
Magix Samplitude Pro X5 Suite Upgrade now $199
Valid until July 26, 2020
At Magix but may be lower elsewhere?

It includes SpecraLayers 6/7

Is there a way to convert PNG, PSD or JPG images to WAV then open it in Spectralayers and then manipulate it to the hearts delight?
Is this a bad idea, that it would not yield any desirable music qualities?

thanks.
Would be great to find a cheap or free program that can export an image file such as PNG as a an audio file such as WAV.

Perhaps best to wait for SL7 and if lucky enough it may have a PEG, PNG, BMP, PSD or TIFF import option.

serum does that.

its now valid until 2nd August

Buy at $199 or hope that on August 3 the Magix Samplitude Pro X5 Suite Upgrade will be available for $149?
I do not see it going up to $249 again. But then …
If not $149 I hope the $199 deal will be available for another ten days.

My guess it that SpectraLayers 7 will be released after mid month.
For $149 intro price? There does not seem to be a lot of interest in SL so likely it will be $149 intro.

What to do!?
I will wait and hope to get either the Magix Samplitude Pro X5 Suite Upgrade or SpectraLayers 7 for $149.

Well, that’s an unpleasant surprise - AUD $449 - No intro offer either. Pretty disappointing considering the current COVID situation as well. It’s a pass from me I’m afraid.

Just purchased Magix Samplitude Pro X5 Suite Upgr. for $195 not $187
https://www.thomannmusic.com/magix_samplitude_pro_x5_suite_upgr.htm

At MAgix earlier today was $249 but just now dropped the price to $199

If I had noticed price drop to $199 at Magix I would have bought from them.

Yes it include Spectralayrs 6/7. It better!!

For anyone who also has a version of Vegas Pro Edit (any version, properly registered), there’s a offer to upgrade to the latest Vegas Pro 18 for $199 which includes a full license for SpectraLayers Pro 7 (at least it appears that way).

At the moment, this is what it says on the MAGIX website:
“Valid until August 11, 2020
Included as part of this offer:
NEW! SpectraLayers Pro 7 ($299 value)”

I must admit I’m baffled as to how the numbers work out on this, but hey, I’m happy, as I was due a VP upgrade anyway

When Spectralayers 6 came out, did the introductory deal come out right at the start?

Welcome Vas314 to the family of Spectralayers users, and also to the Samplitude base.
You did make a sustained effort to find the best way to join in.

So I’d expect you place similar strength later on here, and hence are able to share the usage practicalities you encounter on these both rather unique tools.

One word of caution, particularly with Spectralayers. This is the fruit of a pioneering trail of reasearch by Robin Lobel and those who join in. With that in view, personally and several long time users have had to exert adaptation and patience. Every new version comes with new features, sometimes replacing past workflows, which as usual means implementation issues and bugs.
Being vocal about those could be positive if contributes to a communal evolution process.

Thus, I’d recommend to anyone acquiring SL to locate a version release that you are comfortable with, and stick to it for everyday work, and then have a different install (at a separate partition or PC) where to test latest releases.
This is a practice professional users regularly adopt, but in this case it is doubly recomended, since Spectralayers not only belongs to a comparatively novel field with untapped potential, but also its developer is a pioneer researcher on some of the science behind it.

I would be most staggeringly shocked if Steinberg would deliver such data before the delivery day of SL7. Throughout the most recent 10 years, I’ve never observed valuing uncovered the day of arrival of another form by any A/V programming organization whose product I use. On the off chance that you get a clear answer from Steinberg repricing, you can send up a little prayer of thanks.

I full surely understand the disquiet in choosing whether or not to purchase a pack like the one you are thinking about - it’s actually somewhat of a bet. On the 2 events that I’ve purchased a group under a comparable offer, it turned out to be well value insightful once, yet not all that well the other time. The primary concern to consider here is do you truly need/need Samplitude? On the off chance that indeed, at that point the current offer is bound to be a decent arrangement.
