Since I found my desktop shortcut for the SDA to be a couple of months old I checked it up in Program (x86)/Steinberg/Download Assistant/
To my big surprise the actual app is dated like this although updated today and previously during this spring.
Now that I’ve been sitting here trying to formulate this post I’m starting to think it’s only the certificate that is being updated, and therefore the app itself is unaffected? Otherwise I don’t understand it.
The latest version is dated onsite as November 4 2025 so you probably have the latest, if you’re not sure just download it and install it
Thanks, Cookie!
It’s working, so no issues in that matter. I’m just surprised that despite being updated it’s still not updated. Something must be updated even if the app itself is from november last year, since we were asked to do a manual update a couple of months ago, as I understand it due to an expired certificate.
Then Steinberg pleasingly enough made sure to include an automatic update of the SDA upon launch. Hence my surprise when I discovered that the november version still seems to be the current version.
So, out of curiosity and to better understand I’m wondering what is being updated during the update of the SDA if the app itself still has that “old” date.
The aria2 1.37.0 has the same modification date as the SDA.
