Since yesterday I keep getting this when I run it:
Anybody else getting this?
Nope, it runs perfectly fine here and everywhere else…
Haha, just kidding. In fact, this has been a known issue for a very long time.
Is the latest version of the Download Assistant installed? This has helped sometimes.
You could also use the search function in this forum, there are numereous threads around here.
The easiest solution for the time being is to download the files directly (there is a link attached to your error message).
Sorry…
There is a link on the main support page pointing to a new download of the SDA, that needs to be installed as release 1.36.4. All earlier version can not connect anymore.
Sorry I don’t see exactly what you mention, the closest would be this one:
But it’s not the same error, and it doesn’t point to a new download, it says to press a keyboard shortcut (that at least on macOS doesn’t work) and follow a series of steps.
Weird, that’s not showing for me. But well, since you mentioned it, I just downloaded the download assistant, installed it, and now it works.
Thanks for the tip!
Oh I did, it’s just that the newest thread was from December 2023.
Glad that it worked out for you!
Strange. @JuergenP has replied in another thread which is SDA related just now
Hi all
I’ve just bought Cubase Pro 14 on the crossgrade deal and can’t figure out for the life of me how to get the DAW onto my pc. I’m getting a different message to the OP as shown below.
This is the most complicated software installation I’ve ever encountered and I’m fed up of uninstalling / re-installing the Steinberg software. My registry must be so full of crap now I can’t even imagine. If I can’t get this software downloaded & installed by within the next week or so, I’ll be requesting a full refund and stick to Cakewalk Sonar and FL Studio. Looking at the number of comments on this forum regarding the software downloader Steinberg should get their act together and come up with a solution to this obvious problem.
Hi
I’m using version 1.38 of the SDA and it still doesn’t work?
Have you redeemed your Download Access Code and activated Cubase 14 (open Activation Manager). What do you see in your MySteinberg account?
Have you tried to open the SDA with Admin Rights? Changed your default browser?
It’s been a while since this forum was flooded with complaints about the SDA not working for quite some time now so it must have something to do with your security settings on your rig.
Can you provide an overview what you’ve done so far?
In case you don’t want to use the SDA - you can simply download everything directly here:
Just skip the SDA on top and download step by step. This never fails to work. Just make sure to activate your version, first (Activation manager).
And yes - if the SDA doesn’t work - that’s super annoying. I’m with you… ![]()
What Browser are you using andcwhat are these symbols in the URL, in the right corner?
To me that looks like some blocking extensions in the Browser.
Try using Chrome or Edge and disable aditional stuff like adblockers for the login process.
I’m using Vivaldi and never had these problems.
I found the process easy three weeks ago, on a new Mac with full security, using Safari.
I logged into Steinberg.com. Then bought the Cubase 14 upgrade. I then downloaded the latest Steinberg Download Assistant from Google and ran it.
I’m using Firefox and same. Works every time.
