This is something I’ve puzzled over in the past. I think they have it this way because they see the lower zone and project zone as two separate windows …but I agree with your suggestion.
for example: if you have selected scissors in the main window, you must also select scissors in the piano-roll editor window of the lower zone. At the very least, the synchronization should be done as an option that can be enabled in the settings. Now I have to turn on the right tool for each window separately. This is annoying.
