All seems ok, but when reopening Dorico this window sometimes comes up
Can you please go to that mentioned folder and see if there are more dmp files of the VSTAudioENgine like that. If there are, then please gather and zip them up and send me, please, but only if they are not older than week.
Please send to u dot stoermer at steinberg dot de
Thanks
Is this an email address?
Yes, it is Ulfs Mail Address at Steinberg
Yes, it is Ulfs Mail Address at Steinberg
Thanks. I’m guessing I need to leave out the spaces and change the at to a symbol? I’m not familiar with the email format there
Yes, the way the address is written to avoid Spam bots to grep the address, and make a dot from the “dot”.
Clever!
Just sent, thanks Ulf
And replace dot with an actual dot.

I’m also getting this after installing Synth V, would you mind if I sent my crash reports to you also?
Sure, please send me.
Ulf, I have had no problems with Synth V (other than spending a lot of time playing with it - grin!).
But I’m really awaiting a nice ARA integration to send Dorico note and lyric changes directly to Synth V (hint, hint!)

GLJM I’m also getting this after installing Synth V, …..
After looking at the dump files, Ulf says its Synthesizer V causing the problem so I’ve sent the dump files to them. Would be good if you could send to them also. hopefully they can find a soloution fast!
Will send my crash files to them.
That would be great.
Meanwhile, is there a way to replace an XML in SynthV without actually having to delete the old track and recreate all the voice settings (picking a voice, a language, a preset, and loading an fx preset as well for that track)?
That would be so useful!
Tom
I’ve treid Synthesizer V with Cakewalk and no crash reports there.
So…..its an issue with Synthesizer V in Dorico I think
If you are using the version 2 beta of Synth V, there is a good chance the fault is not with Dorico but is only a fluke with Synth V that slipped through and will be corrected.
If Dorico was at fault, I expect far more folks would be reporting problems; so my expectation is that this is just an unfortunate combination of factors that appears every once in a while. With another project the problem might manifest in Cakewalk but not in Dorico.
We’ll have to wait and see.
On my powerful, stable, and up-to-date Windows 11 system, Syntesizer V crashes (almost) constantly and repeatedly, forcing a system restart, both in Beta 2 and in the current “stable” version. This happens not only with larger snippets, but also with very small ones.
I have already done a lot of online research and tried many tips, such as completely reinstalling the software, without achieving even the slightest improvement. Incidentally, the same behavior occurs with Cubase 15 and Dorico (current).
I finally managed to cancel my purchase and hope that Cantai will do better. But I remain open to solutions.
Best regards

I don’t use Synth-V inside Dorico, but rather export the XML and import it into Synth-V stand-alone. But after your post, I decided to give it a try and loaded Synth-V inside Dorico. Did not have any crashes so far, also no crash report after reopening Dorico. I’m sorry for your trouble with the crashes, but did you consider using Synth-V as standalone and then, after rendering your vocals, bringing them into a DAW? (unless, of course, you don’t use any DAW)
Kind regards, robert
