Temporary closure of the Steinberg online shop

I have raised the issue internally, and I’m trying to find out the answer.

Thanks for such a clear response @dspreadbury. Looking forward to when the shop is open and Cubase 13 upgrades are available

I’m happy to say that the Steinberg online shop is now reopened, in partnership with our new provider FastSpring, and our products are once again available for sale.

We have future improvements to the shop experience planned, but they will follow in good time. Thanks to all our customers for their patience and support during this last few weeks.

We will leave this thread open for the next day or so, and then close it off.

Good news. :+1:
Any confirmed releases for upcoming days or is it still any upcoming Wednesday™?

And that you are doing with great spirit and thoughtfulness. In several ways, I absolutely appreciate your attention here, over this difficult period - I bet that’s the same for many, many others too.

Wishing all success for the new shop/partnership.

Onwards.!

I am based out of Canada. I checked my old order invoice. There is 13% tax on it.

any word on a timeline on sales offers for updates?

If you’re waiting for a promotional offer on e.g. Cubase updates, there are no current plans. A new version of Cubase is coming very soon, but there will be no promotional price on that new version of Cubase.

There will be a Cyber Weeks sales promotion towards the end of November. Cubase will not be included in the Cyber Weeks promotion.

Hi,

Is it too early to ask you the price (in Europe) of the update from Cubase Pro 12 to Cubase Pro 13 ?

Hopefully it will stay around 90€ for Cubase 13.
I would love to see more affordable unified price for this upgrades. 199€ for Nuendo upgrade is quite steep investment.

It was in the context of “I liked the Steinberg account being different from the Asknet account, for privacy reasons”.

Though, Nuendo is targeted at professionals; pricing and feature-set reflect its purpose and strategy - like Cubase as well, only in this case to its very different market/demographic.

Of course, Nuendo hobbyists and all-comers can join in the fun as they wish. Importantly its not always about software companies simply dropping their prices.

So the question would be, is Nuendo paying its way, in order to keep buying in to the upgrades.? Is it value for money for you right now.? If not, hang back for a version or two… or, if you do need it and its too much in one go, save up by splitting the upgrade fee over some months… Perhaps.

Loud and clear, thank you for your involvement in this forum, greatly appreciated. Great job !

Thanks for this clear info!

And also @dspreadbury , to supplement my "heart likes " I’ve placed on various posts you’ve made in this thread … thank you for your calm, clear, responsive texts written in such a factual and respectful manner … I think they’ve gone a long way towards keeping the temperature down in a situation that could easily have become too emotional!

Best regards,

So Cubase 13 on Nov 1st then. :face_with_peeking_eye:
Lets hope there’s more than just what was leaked, and hopefully your coders have used the extra time to iron out any obvious bugs.
Hopefully the store doesnt collapse on the day :flushed::crazy_face:

Can’t wait to see what Cubase 13 has in store!

Hello,
Unfortunately I didn’t get a code.
How do I get one of those?
Best regards, Tim

Hmm… This may be a tough sell for SB this time round…

But of course, and as ever, I will be updating on day one regardless.! :sunglasses:

I’ve not seen the leaked information myself, but typically if it is published by one of our distributors or resellers, it comes directly from the material that we provide to them so that they can set up the product in their online shops, catalogues, and so on. Certainly all of the significant changes and improvements in a new version are included in that information, but the distributor or reseller may not choose to enter all of that information into their system, or not publish it all.

Ultimately, you’ll need to wait for the complete release notes in addition to the new marketing information to get a complete picture of what is included in Cubase 13, but I think it’s safe to say that if the information that was published was taken from the material we supply to our partners, it will be largely complete. You will only be disappointed if you expect something else, or significantly more.

However, I am also confident that the new features and improvements that are in store will make a positive difference to the utility and to your enjoyment of Cubase.

I believe that our engineers have already completed an initial maintenance release for the new version, so the version that will be available on day one will include a number of fixes and improvements, and as I understand it, another one will be on the way in the near future. Our developers and testers have taken the opportunity to continue to polish the software, so it should be in good shape when it gets into your hands.
