Temporary closure of the Steinberg online shop

No need.

its over now, no use for those codes anymore, but as indicated there will be sale on some of Steinberg’s products on cyber Monday ?! or cyber something haha …at the end of November (no Cubase sales for sure though)

Have been lurking in here since the announcement, wanted to chime in and thank the fine people in here for providing good entertainment. Reading some of the arguments made truly gave me a good chuckle or two over the past month.

And thank you Daniel for enacting a masterclass in how to handle online vitriol from people with absolute class

This!

You worry about an online shop being on the same continent as a competitors HQ?
Oh boy, does it trouble you to know that Apple’s office that used to be Emagic and creates that Logic software is less than 10 miles/16 km away from Steinberg HQ?

So no special discount to all the forum members who have participated and sometime helped (!) finding a solution on this thread

Thanks as always to @dspreadbury for his never ending exceptional customer service, you are a credit to yourself your employers and the industry as a whole.

Some people don’t seem to grasp that payment providers do not = shop location or tax location. Anyway this is over, I look forward to the next Cubase and Dorico updates with glee (and someday Doribase or maybe Cuborico)

Oh boy , it obviously troubles you to know there’s someone in the world that doesn’t think the way you want them too , otherwise you wouldn’t of commented .

I’m sure you know this but Selective quoting out of context is just plain rude and disrespectful.

One ā€œoā€ in ā€œtoā€, and the contraction you’re thinking of is ā€œshould’veā€ which comes from ā€œshould haveā€. There is no such thing as ā€œshould ofā€ā€¦

…since we’re talking about meaningless nonsense now and the shop is open I figured I’d point this out.

Give us Cubase 13, Steinberg ā€œClip based Session Viewā€ plugin and Groove Agent 6.

Please could I remind everyone that we keep this forum free of personal attacks.

So is Cubase 13 not releasing this week then? I was under the impression that the release was imminent once the store was back up, if it’s not coming this week though it would be nice to know so i can stop constantly checking the website for an update.

We don’t launch new products on Fridays (or indeed typically on Mondays), so please enjoy your weekend.

To be free of topically irrelevant and reiteratively persistent rants would be my addition to the wish list. Cripes!

And now that I have unpacked MY tin-foil hat to protect against all of this detritus, I’d like to (sincerely) tip it in appreciation to Mr. Spreadbury and his sentient presence and decency through this entire episode.

Also: am enjoying the Hyperion Brass Elements I grabbed during the soft launch. Thanks!

When this thread started a month ago, and continually throughout it, the Steinberg reps hanging out have been very clear, Cubase 13 was NOT coming out once the store reopened.

People STILL had to be told this two days ago when the testing of the store started. It’s like nobody bothers reading anything anymore.

Relax my friend, take a deep breath and count to ten.

I just politely asked for clarification on whether or not it could be expected this week, and @dspreadbury has politely confirmed that it won’t be this week.

I’m not sure why my question has got you heated but I was simply asking for clarification so i can temper my expectations. And now the clarification is also out there for anyone else wondering about the same.

I would just like to say you have been a credit to Steinberg for keeping everyone very well informed about the situation , no one could of asked for more .
The speed at which Steinberg have reopened the shop has been tremendous considering the amount of work involved .

I just hope you take in consideration away to keep the My Steinberg credentials totally separate from the shop because going by some of these responses i’ve received by internet people it just proves my point about being volatile , no ones allowed to criticise otherwise gang culture kicks in .

I’ve made my point which is more than justified , 'you can never say never ’

Congratulations on reopening the store!
For a long time, I patiently asked him to show me his answer.
If possible, please answer the following two questions before closing the thread.
1.) Steinberg rarely releases on Fridays, so has the grace period for new products already begun? (I don’t know if I can safely purchase and register a product (in my case, Cubase 12 Pro) at the reopened store, or if I should wait until next week.
2.) Are there any plans to run a discount campaign for Absolute (including cross-grade versions)?
Until now, I have been unable to take action due to the uncertainty of the future, but I believe that now is the time. Looking at your sincere interactions so far, I am confident that you will respond sincerely to my first and last question.
Thank you for your help!
