The Grand 3 - no sounds

Hello,

Having an issue with the grand 3, as part of the upgrade from absloute 6 to 7 I get the grand 3. It’s dosent show in the activation window as sepreate instrument just as Absoloute 7. All is good, I can also see it in the library manager. When I load it as an instrument track and select a panio nothing hapens. When tried to play as a standalone instrument same thing it produces no sound.

I have tried to reinstall it again from download assistant under absolute 7 icon, no luck.

Can you help?

Thanks

Patrick.

I had this a while back. I went back to the download manager. I think I found and downloaded a Grand content download file.
This did the trick.

I have tried this and to no avail.. Interestingly it took me an age to find the ‘install Again’ option which was under the Absolute 7 icon.

Thanks Mrhehon, issues still happening, uninstalled from both locations and reinstalled..No change.

You installed the Grand content as well as the Grand and still not working?
Is it showing in library manager?
I’m out of ideas.

Yes all content again, it’s showing in the library manger… I think it a licence issue?

Hi,
The Grand 3 is not a separate license and integral part of the Absolute collection - it might as well be that a separate download of The Grand 3 causes a license issue.

Please make sure to download The Grand 3 from within the Absolute 7 VST Collection

Maybe deinstall the previous version and content, first.

If this doesn’t solve your problem: Which OS and Cubase version are you on?

I’m not sure what you mean, @Reco29 – The Grand 3 is sold standalone and as part of Absolute. The content is identical so I wouldn’t think this is a licensing problem.

@Pat_Dee The Grand was included in Absolute 6 and 5 too I think.

Can you please show us the library manager with all the list and window elements exposed?

I should have added in your case The Grand 3 is not a separate license as it is part of the Absolute collection.

Exactly. These versions might behave differently when it comes to licensing in Cubase. Somewhere in the back of my head I remember a user who ran into a similar problem although instrument and content were identical. I might be wrong but I thought it’s worth a shot.

Hi Reco & thanks for taking the time, yeah I have tried your suggestion, no change. If you expand this thread you will find my snapshots. The original post was from another member that had the same issue, so I just tagged my issue to the bottom to save opening a new thread.

Thanks

Patrick.

This sounds very much like missing content. If the license weren’t available the UI would show an indication of that.

The library is quite large and contains many files. it’s likely that the files did not all get registered by the library manager. This could happen if you ran out of disk space during the install process, for example due to temp files taking up space.

@Pat_Dee Hm… but you are the OP of this topic

To analyze this you need to look at the Library Manager, or show us a screenshot, as I requested earlier: e.g., is Yamaha C7 Close actually present?

Like this (click it to see full size):

Hi Steve,

Yes the content runs about 30GB and I have tried uninstall-reinstall, install again, Powered down and back again, watched it disappear from the library manager and then reappear with each cycle…No change.

There are 3 images attached in this thread showing the images you requested, I can post again if you can’t see them. Just trying to keep this thread clutter free.

Regards

Patrick.

Okay Steve, I understand now what you are asking.

Thanks

Just trying to troubleshoot here…

Do any of the pianos in The Grand load correctly?

Also, verify that these files are present at:
C:\ProgramData\Steinberg\The Grand 3\Sub Presets\Models\

Yes all present and correct, 18 files in total.

Please, I’m trying to help you troubleshoot

No, none of them work…When I try to select any of them nothing loads.

Have you tried starting in Cubase Safe-Start Mode?
