It would be handy if the caret (the little note that shows where note entry will occur) reflected the selected input note duration. That is, a little eighth note if your input duration is eighth notes, etc. For whole notes I suppose a whole note with little down arrow below it (or up arrow above it)?
I personally would make a lot fewer entry mistakes if I had that feedback (without having to look over at the input selection panel to the left).
