Using UR44C and dspMixFx with LogicPro on iPad?

Hi - I am having a bear of a time figuring out how to access external gear from LogiPro on my iPad Air using the UR44C. I stumbled on the dspMixFx (DMF for short) app after seeing a video posted from someone who said you can use it with Cubasis or any other daw. I guess my question is - how?

When I’ve tried using Logic’s I/o utility, it wants me to select a hardware output and input chain from my interface - the 44 has the main monitor out and a “Mix 1 l/r” and a “Mix 2 l/r”. Logic only sees outputs 1-2, 3-4, 5-6. When I found the DMF app I realized there’s a Mix 1 and Mix 2 setting in the app. Great! So I opened the app, moved the signal from Mix 1 through outboard gear and back into 5/6 and still no luck. I don’t see how DMF works with LogicPro.

Sure open to any ideas you have!!! Thanks muchly,

Steve

Hi - I’m not actually replying to myself - just providing some additional info and will cross post in the Cubasis forum as well.

Just got off a chat line with Yamaha/Steinberg (apparently as of yesterday, Yamaha does Steinberg support).

I could not find a way to connect DMF to Logic or, for that matter Cubasis! Apparently, you need to “split screen” to have both open, and yet, split screen isn’t supported by DMF on iOS. Which is odd - since there is an iOS-specific download for it.

Is anyone using DMF on an iPad successfully with either Cubasis or any other daw? If so - how? Thanks all!!

Steve
