Video Decoder for Avid DNxHD - can't download

Thanks!

For windows the download link is just a few messages earlier in this thread…

Yeah, but it seems to be an older version created for Nuendo 8. Maybe nothing has changed, okay, but I’d rather have this info straight from Steinberg.

Thanks for the help though. Appreciated!

It works here!

Well, to be honest, I’m not happy with having to install software from unknown sources. So, it’s a security thing as well.

How come Steinberg isn’t able to fix this? It’s really a shame. :frowning:

I understand. They should have a DL available after a customer buys it.
But As you can read above; They have updated the installer and they also care about doing it properly and don’t want to distribute it with bugs. So although i agree a proper DL would be nice, i’m also happy to see an updated version.

that’s not what was said ? - they have changed content delivery platform - and still, after 2 months, haven’t fixed this yet. Not sure they “care about doing it properly”

here’s a direct link to the mac download:

@Ben_at_Steinberg - yep me again - any chance of fixing this so people aren’t having to host downloads for people on their own website !?

My sentiment, exactly! Thanks for helping out.

I’ve already notified some colleagues about this and will follow up with them next week.

This is weird, i honestly recollect a response from a steinberg rep about having it bug tested and almost available… but i can’t find any mention on the forum now. . I don’t understand why i can’t find it now.

yes - that’s for moving it across to Steinberg licensing.

Not sure what, if any, changes to the actual decoder have been made or if we’ll ever be able to download it

“ we’re already working on a new update for the DNxHD codec and are getting to the final stage as I write this post. This new update will support Apple silicon natively and also Steinberg Licensing.

I don’t want to promise anything, but our aim is to roll it out this fall. It may be sooner, but it may also take longer, as the testing phase hasn’t quite started yet and unknown bugs may still appear that could delay its release. But rest assured, it is coming sooner rather than later.”

Emphasis mine. But does this not show they take it seriously? I think so at least.
And why would they bother updating it and then not provide it?
I’ may be naive but this looks positive to me

agreed - and thanks for the extra info

I got new download-links from Steinberg-support now. Finally!

BTW, the current Version is still v2.1.0.

Hi everyone,

We apologize for the still broken download links. Behind this issue, there is a complicated explanation related to the conversion to Steinberg Licensing. But, of course, it’s still inexcusable that it takes this long. Until the MySteinberg links will be finally fixed, please use the links below:

Update: The Video Decoder for Avid DNxHD® 2.1 links in MySteinberg (eLicenser-based products ▸ Downloads) are finally working again.

looks like DNxHD vouchers for the move to Steinberg licensing are in our MySteinberg accounts now

I assume that means there is an updated version of the software ?

links in this thread are still the old version and the mysteinberg download link is still broken ?

@Georg_Kiria ?

Hi Doc, you’re right, the free update will be announced today. After upgrading to Steinberg Licensing by using the voucher, Video Decoder for Avid DNxHD® 3.0 will be available via Steinberg Download Assistant’s “My product downloads” section. This is independent of the still broken links in MySteinberg.

thanks - already there
we’re now on V3

is there a change log ?

No, as far as I know the only changes are Steinberg Licensing and Apple silicon support. But let’s wait for the official announcement.
