Hi @Georg_Kiria, unfortunately I can’t see the Avid DNxHD 3.0 download in “my product downloads” in the Download Assistant. What’s going wrong?
Did you already use the voucher, or, in other words, did you successfully migrate the license to Steinberg Licensing?
@Georg_Kiria no I didn’t use the voucher so far. Does the older version remain on my eLicenser so Nuendo 11 can still use it - or ist impossible to use it then in N11? Thanks in advance
Actually, the Video Decoder license will be removed from the USB-eLicenser, but you certainly can use the Steinberg Licensing-based Video Decoder for Avid DNxHD® 3.0 license with Nuendo 11. It requires Steinberg Activation Manager on the same system, though.
that’s an important point
are you sure the licence is removed ? or is it just marked as upgraded and continues to work - just like all the previous updates to work with SAM
I’ll hang on before I apply the upgrade if so…
EDIT
yes - it wipes the licence from the elicenser - which is a bit silly IMO. It would imagine that means that you HAVE to upgrade to the recently released version of DNxHD and if there are any problems you can’t roll back.
the latest windows version also flags a couple of virus warning in virustotal too
just sayin’
You are basically right. The license agreement with Avid didn’t allow us to provide an additional license, as we did with other licenses that moved to Steinberg Licensing. However, since the changes are minor, we don’t expect any compatibility issues.
here’s hoping
You are basically right.
if this works it is fine for me… but I don’t want to jump in at the deep end.
So is there any confirmation that N11 works with the installed Activation Manager and the Video Decoder for Avid DNxHD® 3.0?
No worries. Nuendo 11 will verify its license via the eLicenser Control Center, and the Video Decoder will do the same via the Steinberg Activation Manager. Both license management utilities are doing their job next to each other on any system the Steinberg Download Assistant is installed.
Seriously?
Might be wise to have a message explaining that if people want to retain their C11 dongle license, they will need to buy a new full version if they don’t want to surrender their C11/dongle version?
Could someone explain to me how to download this new version? I see the license in my elicenser but I don’t understand how to migrate it to be able to download version 3…
-
Go to my Steinberg. Then go to the vouchers section.
-
After redeeming, go to the Steinberg download assistant.
Done!!, thanks very much!

That’s not correct. Please take a look here:
Steinberg Licensing: Upgrades from eLicenser-based products
So far, the Video Decoder license is the only license that is being removed from the USB-eLicenser when switching to Steinberg Licensing. Our license agreement with Avid does not allow for a duplication of the license.
Would be able to pass to me please?
No longer have it, and have voucher upgraded since then (cause I got a MBP and need an Apple Silicon Native version).
Didn’t see reason to keep it archived after that.
