Video player is rotated through 90 degrees

I imported an MP4 video made by my daughter on Portrait mode on her tablet. It plays correctly under VLC, but in Cubase it shows rotated into Landscape format. Do I need to convert the original file, or can I rotate the preview to show it correctly?

After 5 years…same problem here!

We need a rotate video option…

+1, frustrating, does Cubase read this forum?

Looks like we still having this problem :unamused:

Hi @Pierott (or anyone else reading, who’s concerned) - it would be good if the devs can test such a clip themselves to find out what they need to ‘fix’. Maybe upload one to a file-sharing site, make it accessible to others to access/download and share the link here.?

It helps to mention your system specs and Cubase version too.

FWIW, properly formatted portrait video does seem supported in current Cubase video player (9:16 aspect ratios). I appreciate the topic is about supporting rotation of video - and this remains (as far as I can tell) an issue. VLC Player and Studio One have no problem.

Further info if you’re interested, here. I’ve made test files available there too. No engagement with the SB devs thus far; but that’s not to say they haven’t seen the post…
