Big fan of Cubase 14 Pro, here’s how I think it can be even better:
Visualize the FX/Group channel waveform.
Make it possible to render the FX/Group channel to offload CPU power.
A workaround is to record the FX/Group on an audio channel, but that feels inconvenient and relies on real-time processing.
We just had the topic. Of course you can render the FX or Group track non-real-time onto an audio track.
Please look if any of these two solutions works for you:
Well, the by far easiest solution is to set up your locators and then go to File → Export → Audio Mixdown
In “Channel Selection” select the Effect track as the one to be rendered.
In “After Export” select to “Create Audio Track”.
What @Googly_Smythe wrote is the tried and tested realtime recording of the effect channel.
You can also use Render in Place.
Pre-requisite:
You have your Audio track for the guitar.
You have an Effect track and the guitar audio track sends its signal via a Send.
What you do:
create another Audio track
set its input to the Effect track
create an empty audio part on the track by drawing it with the mouse; this part marks the duration of the “recording”, so make it as long as you nee…
Thanks for your quick reply.
The After Export function is a possible workaround indeed but it’s a bit flawed for my workflow with the goal of reducing CPU usage.
It’s not an ideal workflow because:
Unlike Render-In-Place, it doesn’t keep the Channel settings and is not automatically matched to the length.
The exported channels still need to be manually disabled to reduce CPU usage.
