I bought VST Live yesterday and while 3.0.14 worked with minor lag issues 3.015 doesn’t load the project (“Keine Rückmeldung”). This same project worked in 3.0.14 properly 5 minutes before.

The crash happens after the “preload” msg is displayed.

@Spork @musicullum , just tried 3.0.15:

  • recorded video files now plays at good framerate in sync! Fixed!
  • Multiple video tracks to same video monitor out: from the 3rd track onwards sent to same video monitor out, no video sent to monitor, it shows in preview in inspector but won’t go to monitor. if you move the track to another monitor it shows (but only 2 tracks per monitor out). Try to send 4 video tracks to same monitor (overlapping but also not overlapping in different time positions is the same)… not working
  • video director always shows “video director not active” so can’t send to video director monitor.

audio and monitor mixer:

  • now i can’t ear anymore the noises at song switch … seems fixed ?!
  • there are still extreme loading times at song switch if monitor mixer tab is in sight, this is show stopper for V3 for me at the moment
  • still in extreme need for a visibility menu in monitor mixer to hide unwanted outputs in the outputs list (20 outputs shown, but i wanna see only the 6 iem out that i need to quickly access)

Overall great progress, just need a couple refinement. Now i’ll go bug hunting again for tracks and native editors to refine. also still a UNDO tracks bug reproducible, i’ll open another thread.

Cheers, Ciro.

Hi,

Could please check the following location to check if Crash-Log was saved?
C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\Steinberg\CrashDumps

Do you see any files starting with “VST Live…”? Can you add them here, please?

Thank you,
Michael.

Don’t know what am I doing wrong: One video-track to one view, I have more then 3 video tracks. Should work:

Hi Michael,

no, unfortunately I only see my Cubase crash dumps there.

If neither OBS is opened nor the Director Monitor is selected (which is true in your case), the director has nothing to do. It always needs at least one target. Will extend text message.

hmmm. Maybe I misunderstand, but I don’t think that is the problem (v3.0.15. What am I missing?

what if you select vstlive video in OBS? What if you enable “Monitor” in the Video Director? And/or toggle OBS button?

And, are you sure installation went ok? The OBS component needs to be in sync with the VST Live app version.

Anyway, a new version is on the way. Slightly confused which version you use, as the last one yesterday freezes/crashes your project, as you reported (fix is on the way).

Will toggle values then, but this test project used to work before
Screenshot with all possible extra toggles:

Sure, let’s wait!

We save everything now so it should appear as saved, did not before. You can also run OBS w/o any director or monitor view

This is a mean one. We are working on a fix best we can.

will fix right away.

“extreme” is pushing it a bit… This will take a while but we have it on the list.

Thank you @musicullum , but previous video engine did not had any problem with 4-5 video tracks to same video monitor. I use multiple tracks to make cross fades between videos (and transparent logo superimposed) practically in all songs. A workaround could be allowing for cross fades between event clips in same track for videos but also for audios (X fade cubase style) but don’t know which one is easier to accomplish!

Cheers, Ciro.

Tried with video director monitor open. 2 video tracks to 2 video monitor outputs, VD still shows as not active.

sure? The “Monitor” item in Video Director was checked? Note that the Video Director now has its own Monitor view, not one of the “Devices/Video Views”.

Anyway, we improved that too, so pls try again with the next version coming today.

Yes can confirm, with video director open, and video director monitor open, “not active” in video director, and a blank video director monitor.

Anyway, I’ll check new pre-release!

@ciro1983811 am I right, as soon as you can re-record your visual, the 2+ video tracks on the same Video-View you won’t need any more, right?

I mean I know, your visuals sometimes are made up using multiple video-files, but in normal cases 1video / video-view or 2 videos if you are using overlay. But 2+ must be rare, or am I way to simple?

Yes but to do this i need to work at least one time (to record the video monitor out in one single track) at the moment i can’t as this would need 3-4 tracks to same monitor out or X-fade implemented on sigle track between 2 video events.
