But will vstl2 no longer be updated? Do I have to buy VSTL3?
I think if all VL2 users could upgrade to VL3, then time spent for fixing VL2 would go to work on VL3. This means that everything would go faster - bugfix & improvements. Why don’t you upgrade?
It should be updated. Product support is 2 years, if I’m not mistaken. Maybe they just think everything works in version 2, but that’s far from true…
But if you need the functionality of version 3 and are willing to continue to put up with the constant bugs, you can buy it. ![]()
There we are again. Official version 2 has just been updated just like version 3.
Pls don’t post such claims, you are risking legal action. If you have bugs to report, report them here. Others are of very differnet opinion.
All bugs and improvements that were fixed in version 3 have also been fixed in version 2, both official and pre-release versions, unless those features are only available in version 3.
Come on, maybe it’s time to file a lawsuit against you? This forum will be very helpful as an evidence base! Is this what they call it? Does it work? Delay when transitioning from one song to the next or VST Live Pre-Release 3.0.40 / 2.2.120 Are Available - #11 by sergeantt67 , Import and export of media projects and dawprojects - #11 by sergeantt67 , VST Live 3.0.37 // 2.2.117 Are Online - #5 by sergeantt67
And this is my last post here, so you can relax.
Yes, at this point I think I will upgrade to VST Live 3. I have a lot of confidence in Steinberg, and I truly believe this project can become a benchmark in the live performance field. At the moment, I don’t see anything else on the market that is really equivalent.
I run a company that develops electronics and software for industrial automation and robotics, so I know very well how many hours of work, research, testing, and debugging go into products of this level. That’s one of the reasons why I have remained a loyal Steinberg user since the Pro24 days.
I believe it’s important to support the development team and give them our trust. An active and constructive community can help identify issues more quickly and contribute to shaping future improvements. We have already seen that many features requested by users have eventually been implemented.
To me, this is the right spirit of a forum: collaborating, sharing experiences, and helping a project grow when we believe in its potential.
This is like fresh water.
Community, collaboration and support… And best of all - both ways.
“Delay transitioning” has been fixed. “incorrect names in the audio device stack” not reproducible (also not by other users), “DAW project” I don’t know but at least there’s a workaround, “After switching to an empty song, it shows correctly again” a) could not be verified and b) is not really a major issue…
It’s ok to list and critisize bugs, but it’s not ok to post to a new customer “constant bugs” when all you mention are minor (or unconfirmed) issues.
Looked up my Stats (that’s just me, so multiply at least by 2 for Micha), 2.3k days visited, 33.2k posts read, 2.6k likes received, 7.6k posts created. We have answered each and every post and fixed each and every bug (and particularily, crash) that has been reported and that could be reproduced (just a few are outstanding but on the list). All directly by the developers. Not much more we can do.
Just be fair. Forget legal stuff (doesn’t apply to you anyway), and thanks for helping which you did, but consider potentially new users reading this forum. It may well hurt us if global claims like “it’s buggy” keep them from at least testing it, and that’s just unfair. Also there is yet to be found a bug-free software on this planet, but there are differences how much developers take care about issues. We are passionate about this product and try our best since version 1.0.
Hello @Ivahngray,
At the moment, there are no plans to publish additional weekly VST Live 2 Pre-Releases.
Yeah! ![]()
See you,
