I just uploaded a new video where I discuss a strange issue I discovered after 25 years of using Cubase. It involves MIDI curves not working on tracks set to “ANY” (MIDI channel). This issue affects my large orchestral template using Vienna Ensemble.
Here’s the workaround I found using Cubase expression maps. I’d love to hear your thoughts and any similar experiences you might have had!
Yes, Ramp Mode is not usable in my opinion as it currently stands. Unfortunately I’m not sure it will ever get fixed. In the thread you linked to @Martin.Jirsak is saying he has reported it to Steinberg and believes they are working to fix it. In a number of other threads he claims this is how it is intended to work. So who knows.
The yellow messages are not error messages. These are informative messages. Ignoring these kind of messages is definitely not a good practice. You can get informed for example about the alghorithm switch for the audio stretch.
If you want to use Channel Any, switch the MIDI Controller lanes to the Step mode, please.
@mlib , please, don’t mix up multiple topics. The linked topic is about the resolution of the MIDI data if you are using Ramps. Steinberg is aware of this issue. But this has nothing to do with the “Any” MIDI Channel topic, which is discussed in the current thread.
Please. I’m not mixing anything up here. I was replying directly to Al3x’s post above mine. A post that was merely highlighting yet another issue with Ramp Mode. An issue, may I remind you, I have been told on numerous occasions by you that it “It works as specified”.
Hi @Martin.Jirsak What’s the reason behind this limitation?
I have stayed away from ramps in part becase of the mentioned issues, but I’m very suprised to find out about this now, and I can see it being an issue for me as well even if the ramps resolution would be fixed at some point.
