What happened to transparent audio events?

I’ve looked through all of the preferences and can’t find a place to make audio events transparent. In v5 there was a check box in preferences under ‘event display’ for ‘transparent events’. What am I missing? Surely that hasn’t been eliminated from the program. That is a vital feature. How do I line up a waveform spike with a downbeat if I can’t see the grid through the audio event that I’m editing? Do I now have to leave every other track blank so that I can see the grid I’m editing to?
