Why sell this product before it is working. Vst live mods only on Ios, but doesnt work

not so easy for us either.

I’ve already mentioned some of them earlier in this thread. Many others have also been reported by other users and are still present from previous versions, as brought to my attention in this thread.

I’m not sure what this state of denial is about. Either the devs are ignoring these issues, or they’re trying not to acknowledge them, both of which sound bad for the future of the software. Not knowing what the manual is missing or what critical bugs exist is a clear sign of obliviousness.

If you think reading user reports is a waste of time, then that says a lot about why the software is so bad. I’m not sure why everything is taken personally by the devs here. We care about the future of the software, and we’re trying to improve it, not attack anyone.

Well, it would have been better not to mention that at all. Should we even care? You’re not working for free! You released a product and sold it to clients. Please make sure it works. Whether it’s easy for you or not, as a client, is of no concern to me at all!
You can share all your wishes and suggestions with your management, how hard it is for you, and your meticulous clients are simply demanding the impossible from you, which is what we’ve always demanded and will continue to do!

No, you don’t have to (as opposed to us). That was a human trying to express to another human what a Monday morning feels like after a full Sundays’ worth of work for this project, and then beeing rewarded with a thread like this. Sorry for that.

  1. fixed, as reported by Spork.
  2. and
  3. and
  4. acknowledged by Spork as well
  5. we need some repro for that - dto
  6. working on it, as promised
  7. and
  8. also acknowledged
  9. which editor and OS?
  10. as said, it’s already at Apple for release
  11. see our online manual. Maybe some screenshots are still outdated, we’re working on improving, one by one, but not exactly a ā€œcritcal bugā€ either.

None of these (except possibly for the ā€œundoā€ case - maybe, we don’t know for sure what your problem is) are ā€œcritical bugsā€, some are already fixed, or are beeing worked on. We try to do our best to sort issues by severity and apprechiate if you can help us (and other users) with that.

That would be funny if it weren’t that sad, when a few rows up we need to read:

Not a native English speaker, but that seems extremely offensive - but will wait until my understanding of this sentence is confirmed by a native English speaking member to mean what I fear it does?

Just looked it up - just myself replied 7.3k times just in this forum. Add to that Sporks’, and you’re well over 15.000, plus help from more positive users. Don’t know of many other product forums with that much response directly from the devs, including weekly fixes and versions (next one to come up within the next hours)?

ā€œmanyā€ā€¦well…at least, we react to all reports and help, and have helped thousands of times before. Thankfully, there are way more positive entries and reports useful for new users, see feedback.

So…did not mean to offend anyone, pls let’s focus on facts and try to spend our precious time on prioritizing tasks to be done to make it even better

… and here we go. I’m finally happy to be able to tell you more. Read more here:

Now, let’s get back to the music.

We’re doing our best to keep improving VST Live — step by step, getting better and better.

Have a nice evening, and thank you all for your feedback. Let’s stay positive!

I’m not going to engage further in arguments and will only focus on feedback.

I’m not sure whether you intended to fix the issues listed in this thread in version 3.0.15, but none of them were fixed. In fact, the update made things worse. When I import a WAV file with a different sample rate than the project, the file doesn’t play, then VST Live stops responding and crashes. VST Live Mods is also still not working after the update to version 1.5.1 and shows as offline all the time.

I guess I’ll move on for now and maybe come back when the software is more mature.

That being said, huge respect to the founder of Steinberg @musicullum, and I hope VST Live becomes the next ā€œCubaseā€ soon.

Agree, still not working,
Why cant the mods app have the same controls as the program?
i.e Chord font Size, Lyric font size, cursor location,
Plus some still do not load…

This is a main selling point for you guys, im sure.

Hi @tunecreators

Because each remote user might want a different chord/lyric font size.
But I think we mentioned this before: first we want to make sure syncing of lyrics, chords and setlist works properly. Once that’s confirmed, we can start adding more features (colors, track selection, …).

What do you mean by that?

See you,
Michael

Hi @YamenFahham

please don’t give up.

We’re unfortunately not that fast. We need to analyze the problem (and the code) first, then it goes into a new pre-release. Usually we come back to the thread to confirm it’s fixed — or ask for more info if we still need details.

Is this the same import issue you mentioned before? If yes, could you link me to the original thread/post?

We can see from @tunecreators’ screenshots that it works on some setups — but clearly not on yours, and I’m sorry you’re still blocked. I’m here to help, but I’ll need a bit more information:

  • Is VST Live running on Windows or macOS?
  • iOS: In Settings → VST Live MODS, is Local Network enabled?
  • Are you on the same Wi-Fi network (no guest network / VPN)?
  • Any firewall/security software that could block local network traffic?

Michael.

No, that’s a new bug. It didn’t crash in the previous version, it only introduced crackles in the audio.

For me, it works intermittently when I connect the iPad directly to the laptop’s hotspot, but it never stays online and keeps alternating between online and offline. However, when both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, it always shows as offline. What’s strange is that even when it shows as offline, it sometimes syncs for a few seconds and then stops, VST Live also recognises that a peer is connected.

Windows.

Yes.

Yes.

Firewall and security are completely disabled.

I asked why cant there be the same controls as the program, chord size lyrics size…….and the answer is, ā€œbecause different users might want different sizesā€?!!
How?? without the controls?
There is no option for different users either to select what lyric or chord track they may want to view.

That’s the reason we provide a new version.

All of those problems (crash or freeze when starting or importing) are the result of a stupid bug that crawled in when we tried to improve sample rate conversion because of your report, once more we are very sorry for that and will provide a fix very soon.

You misunderstood. We want to allow font etc to be set up in the Mods app, so that everybody can adjust to their taste.

That’s the plan. wonders take a bit longer

I guess I should’ve never reported it then lol. Sorry everyone :joy:

Thank you!

You know @YamenFahham as on-the-fly-samplerate conversion is already implemented - if the on-the-fly sample rate conversion is micro-crackling you then it good to everyone if reported. A few weeks ago VSTLive3 saved the serious situation with the built in on-the-fly sample rate conversion  (and everyone was blinking :D)

Sure, I was just messing around. I would never leave a bug unreported. My track record speaks for itself :joy:

Thats what Im asking, you misunderstand, im afraid
