C13.0.20 - tabbing to secondary commands in a dialog box issue

I regard this more as an issue than a feature request and therefore votes are not required. Secondly, Steinberg are well aware of this issue. Whether or not they will address it in a timely manner is another question.
Thirdly, many of us ran out of votes to give a loooong time ago.

Thanks for clearing up this for me. I’ve only been watching this forum for some time. Only recently I started to actively use it so I didn’t know you can run out votes
I understand it’s not a feature request as in C12 this is working just fine.
I want to believe that people at Steinberg will actually do something about this. It wouldn’t be the first time they’d ignore broken behaviour :unamused:

This is still an issue with C13.0.30

Simple dialog commands are registering the space bar to execute them eg. Cancel or Save or Don’t Save

Edit: are not registering. Hence the issue still persists.

Ah that’s interesting, thanks - I’ll try that. I wonder if it was a conscious change that Steinberg made?

Fatal typo in my post

Still an issue, is what I meant.

Haha no worries, thanks for letting me know!

Been going on for years…

Thought I remembered another (similar) thread about this kind of stuff… and found it…
TAB: List all the fields you wish you were/should be able to Tab to but can’t (Steinberg, please implement basic tab protocol everywhere thoroughly) - Cubase - Steinberg Forums

Its just the Steinberg way:-
Make a Major release - fix some things (other, already addressed stuff gets broken)
Make a release - fix some new things; break some of those previous fixed things
Make a release - fix only some of those things that broke, break a few other things
Make a release - fix only some of those things; try to catch up on past breakages
Make a release - few new breakages updated
Make a release - nothing much changed
Make a Major release - fix some things (other, already addressed stuff gets broken)
Rinse, repeat…

Over the years, you just learn to tolerate it… and you get on, and you make some music, because you love Cubase… you grumble a little on the forum and live in hope that the next release really will be the one with zero tiresome/tedious little surprises…

Have a fab evening all.!

This is absolutely maddening! Is anyone at Steinberg aware of this problem or interested in fixing it?

Cubase 13.0.41 - still can’t use the cursor keys to navigate buttons in dialogs!

Still unhappy that this hasn’t been fixed.
Can Steinberg confirm that they are trying to fix this issue?
I can’t see why you would be able to tab to a clickable pane in a dialog box if you weren’t able to activate it with your keyboard - so something is broken that didn’t used to be.

the tab cursor in the panning is a fn nightmare now…

The menus, cursor, tab behaviour …
The continual changing in order to appease new users is such an azzbackwards move.
Now long time users are forced to change the way they work and THAT part seems to be getting worse every update.

Seems to be happening with every iteration, now.

Still an issue in 13.0.50.

I don’t mind changes to Cubase - as a long term user I understand that it can’t just stay exactly as it is… it’s fun to have new stuff.

It’s just the tabbing/enter in the dialog boxes that annoys me because it works over ‘OK’ in those boxes… what’s the point in being able to tab to Don’t Save or Cancel if you can’t select them???!!!

C14.0.20: it’s still not working the same way as in C12.
I am wondering if this behaviour (unability to tab to dialog buttons) is supposed to be deliberate (e.g. preventing user to tab to ERASE).
At least it would be nice to know whether this could be fixed sometime in the future.
