Countdown to Nuendo 14 - Save 30% on Nuendo 13 + free update + Grace Period

Thank you for the question. On the Score Editor side, both Cubase and Nuendo are equal, so Nuendo won’t support musicxml as well, unfortunately.

Hello, please have a look in your MySteinberg account under “vouchers” to find an update to Nuendo 13. Of course it cannot provide a Nuendo 14 code, as Nuendo 14 isn’t available yet.

Just to make sure I understand this correctly: If I activate a “dormant” licence of NU13 that I bought some time ago now, will NU14 automatically appear in my account? Do I have to activate NU14 to take advantage of this offer, or can it be kept “dormant”, too?

It was a full license of Nuendo 12 that I activated yesterday after Timo’s announcement.

Thanks Timo for reply. Unfortunately nothing was in my “Vouchers” Yet.

activated Feb 20 2025

This is a constant source of confusion. Actually, in the new licensing model, grace period eligibility is determined by the date of Download Access Code redemption, not by license activation. So, if your N13 license has never been activated, but was registered to your account before February 18, then the N14 grace period does not apply to you, unfortunately.

Please, see my post above. License activation date is not relevant.

Thank you. now everything is clear. Sadly, it doesn’t say Download Access Code redemption but Activation. Anyway Thanks for the Info.

Will get this sorted. Let me speak to the license team asap.

Oh, wow. That’s bad news. Thanks for the information, @valsolim .

EDIT: I’ve checked my “Steinberg Account”, and there’s no trace of the NU13 license I bought back then. This might indicate that I didn’t redeem a Download Access Code either. :sunglasses: … I keep my fingers crossed.

@TimoWildenhain
Good news on the N14 release. Many thanks for the info.

Thanks for letting me know. I’m going to give Dorico a shot and if I can get a good workflow, it won’t matter.

I just want to understand this correctly. I’ll be updating from Nuendo 10 which still uses the e-licenser protocol. How long till I have to upgrade to Nuendo 13 (So I can effectively have license for Nuendo 14 when it’s released)? Till March? I don’t want to miss the grace period. Also would I be able to still use Nuendo 10 with the dongle (on a different computer)?

Can we expect a teaser video on the new features ahead of the release? That would be cool

Before the sale ends—likely around March 18, or whenever Release 14 officially launches (which could even be next week, though that’s not set in stone)—you have the opportunity to secure your upgrade.

If you already have a Release 13 Download Access Code, you can register it immediately and receive an automatic upgrade to Release 14 as soon as it becomes available.

If you don’t have one, you can either purchase and upgrade to Release 13 now—taking advantage of the current sale—and still receive an automatic upgrade to Release 14, or you can choose to upgrade directly to Release 14.

In all scenarios, access to Release 14 is guaranteed.

Think of the Download Access Code as a voucher that you can redeem at any time. Whenever you redeem and activate it, you’ll be upgraded to the latest available version, just like in Ableton Live. If you redeem and register now, you’ll receive both Release 13 and the upgrade to Release 14.

Probably in next 10 days

I am optimistic it will rather sooner than later. :grinning: The score developers seem to be quite dedicated.

Yes. Your elicenser-based Nuendo 10 (and for that matter Nuendo 3,4,5,6,7,8,9 which you have access to) continue to work on any computer you’d like from this moment until the day your elicenser dongle fails.

The purchase of the N14 upgrade then adds 3 non-dongle licenses.

That’s the general way it works for me with all my various Cubase/Nuendo dongle/non-dongle licenses.

Any chance of there being some discount offered to those wanting to Crossgrade from Cubase 13 Pro? Thanks

I can’t wait to use N14. I’m not much present on the forums but I read you a lot. Michel (high functioning autistic and Proud long-time Nuendo user.)
