Cubase 10.5 Out Now

Can you explain the mention of Mojave on the buy page? Does that mean that older MacOS versions are not supported? Or does it mean that newer versions are not supported?

Can anyone confirm 10.5 functionality on the latest version of High Sierra? Concerning that only Mojave is recommended for this release when there are USB interface issues with Mojave (Apogee Quartet/duet in my experience) as well as the absence of Mac Pro 2012 (cheese grater) functionality unless you flash a newer graphics card. These as well as other bugs have kept me away from Mojave thus far!

If I just bought the 9.5 to 10 update couple days ago will I get 10.5 or does it have to be a new full version purchase to get the 10.5 upgrade/grace period?

That’s MetaGrid (I think…). You can check it out here: http://metasystem.io/

I’m curious about this as well. My Mac won’t support Mojave and I really don’t want to buy and config a new machine right now. I can understand that it may not be supported on older versions of the OS, but if it won’t run at all then that’s a bummer and it’ll have to wait till next summer before I can purchase a new Mac.

Great! Thank you!

Is 10.5 compatible with macOS Catalina?

I didn’t notice the Mojave note…
Bought and downloaded it immediately while still on High Sierra.
Installed and runs without a problem. (Eventhough I can still update to Mojave, I haven’t done that yet…)

Mojave is the minimum requirement indeed. Catalina is also supported - I hope that this can be added to the requirement page tomorrow when everyone is back at work.
High Sierra may work but we haven’t tested it officially anymore and thus we cannot recommend and support it.

Running super sluggish after this update :-/

Won’t spend another penny with Steinberg until you give me an interface that goes back to the black letters/numbers. Absolutely lame that it was changed after being the same for so many years. The new interface gives me a headache every single time I use it. That never happened with the old interface lettering, and it’s made me switch to another DAW.

would be so practical…import from project is great’,but we need this also as preset.

I’m currently installing 10.5 and my first order of business will be to test this out. I don’t think presets are possible but if it’s possible to export a folder to track archive, and save that archive into the media bay, then we could practically call it a preset.

I’ll let you know what I find

The update works fine, thx.

Even if not,
just create a template specifically for “FolderTrack “Presets”” in which you always reference this project template to import whatever folder scheme you want.

From this template, you can then continuously import new FolderTrack templates from your other projects and resave the template.

Is there a “version history” pdf document for 10.5 similar to below?

Hi Matthias, we have a major problem in Australia. We have not been able to download/use Download Assistant or the latest update. I tried downloading Cubase Pro 10.5 but was unsuccessful. Corrupted files message, the same with Download Assistant. This has been going on for about a month, other Australian users are having the same problem. Steinberg’s representatives in Australia provided a brief link to install 10.0.05. I have paid my money for the upgrade to 10.5 and would like to install this as soon as possible. This requires action ASAP, as there are a lot of Australian customers I am sure wanting to continue with Steinberg’s products. PLEASE HELP!

Larry
P.s, my computer is fully compatible with Steinberg products.

For me this update is HUGE!
The new combined smart tool, the beautiful graphics, the new import project, the amazing multitap delay, LUFS normalize and the list goes on and on. Bravo Steinberg!
Now lets hope for version 11 to see 1) advanced freeze and 2) external plugins options, 3) group-folder tracks 4) extended auto monitoring and 5) mono to stereo track with one click.
‘Till then I will enjoy my works with all the beauties added in this version.
Cheers

That’s Metagrid, which has a pretty decent following around here. Really makes Cubase easier to use. You can create buttons and have them execute Key Commands, Macros, text, & MIDI messages.

New import track and smart tool (like in protools) are lovely improvements. But if they not fixed VCA bug I will not upgrade:(
