Cubase 11.5 come out, come out, wherever you arešŸ˜‰

Similar here. Most likely will spend the Cubaseā€™s upgrade money on a crossgrade to Studio One.

Kinda feel that way too. Been waiting years for midi control to get sorted, leaked API last year and never made it to c11. Now being strung along for c11.5 for a year and looks like itā€™s not even coming now either.

Sick of waiting to be honest, the move away from the dongle is just going to drag along too. Not even mentioning list of bugs and outdated elements, the Cubase I want feels 2-3 years away right now.

Once you learn Project Logical Editor, no DAW beats Cubase in terms of workflow efficiency. Thereā€™s nothing I could switch to even if I wanted to.

The logical editor is quite limited when compared to tools such as Reapers action and extensions system. If you want to use it for basic tasks like auto-colouring tracks you have to manually fire it off every time a track is created or changed, and itā€™s limited to a set number of matches per entry.

You canā€™t even create a toolbar to accompany the entries youā€™ve made, so how it beats software that allows you to create custom actions, wrap them into their own button and display within the interface exactly?!

Even Studio One allows you to create custom toolbars with quite advanced macro formations, and thatā€™s ā€œchasingā€ Cubase?!

Iā€™m not sure why some are on a Cubase forum if they are Cubase haters. I like it how it is and I donā€™t want huge changes which means I have to relearn it all again. I also like the dongle as no messing with authorising my pc again or laptop if I rebuild.

Donā€™t think anyone is hating. Would just like to see some significant innovations to justify the upgrade cost. If not Iā€™ll try something different and still have version 11 to use when I see fit.

Holy crap just grace period-ed last weekend :ā€™(

Kinda glad people are getting caught out for exploiting the system. I know youā€™ll hate me for saying that, but it makes a mockery of the goodwill gesture where people buy previous version in half price sales and then expects the next release as a free upgrade.

Everyone will be moaning if the new licensing system tracks purchase dates. Donā€™t worry though, everyone will get their wish of a subscription plan the more they avoiding paying full price.

they probably will announce that cubase 12 will be released in 2022 and not the usual november release(according to the the leak few days ago) , so that grace period for cubase 12 will be announced in advance, but those who didnā€™t know that and already activated it kind of miss the ā€œregularā€ grace upgrade.
but of course its only my assumption

Dude i am on cubase from version 7 i have been paying every upgrade all those years on the pro versions.

For your intel this was about the upgrade from my elements version on my other pc (macbook) that i use for some sketchwork.

You almost make it look a felony ā€¦ jeezzzz

Iā€™m personally glad that the open exploitation of a goodwill gesture has fallen flat, thatā€™s all. What youā€™ve not paid for on your system is no concern of mine.

Do you guys now when Cubase 13 will be out and what features will have?

My bet why 11.5 is ditched (possibly):

  • they need add M1 support
  • they want (or have to) recode the license design
  • Covid-19 effects not fully covered
  • they want to fix all existing flaws and bugs (laughing about myself now).

So, we might see 2-3 more v11 updates untill 2022 before v12 comes out with also a reworked GUI and full HDPI support in Windows and supporting new CPU designs like E & P Core types.

Add public beta to that

Could be that theyā€™ve got the new licensing code embedded into the modules, and canā€™t go live until the new licensing system is operational.

It strikes me as something which has occurred late in the day, and theyā€™re in a bit of a corner. The paid annual updates is an income stream and would take something unforeseen to upset that, no-one wants a break in revenue.

I suspect itā€™s something like that - theyā€™ve burnt their bridges with the implementation of the new security system and theyā€™ve hit some serious problems with it, so they have to delay. Iā€™m not convinced the Steinberg developers are the best out thereā€¦

Opinions based on the purest, higest quality misinfomation availableā€¦ :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, but itā€™s Reaper.

My entire PLE system is splayed out onto my iPad via Meta Grid.

Youā€™re sort of making false equivalencies, because Reapers nor Studios Ones system is like PLE.

I hope to prove otherwiseā€¦
We see that the developers of Steinberg have stopped creativity

As we can see competitors are developing more and more

Itā€™s interesting that people have this perception that there is some other musically utopian magical world where otherworldly sounds and music are created that Steinberg and their users are excluded from and all theyā€™d have to do is ā€˜switch DAWSā€™ and it will be as if they warpspeed teleported into another universe where they and everyone else who isnā€™t a Cubase user are all top 100 producers. This isnā€™t reality people, Iā€™m sorry it does not exist! The only place it does exist is inside you and if you canā€™t bring that out with nothing but a 4-track cassette recorder, let alone Cubaseā€¦ you are doomed

@Ehabmxd How far have you gone into Groove Agent? incredibly deep and creative program. What about Padshop? Iā€™m not sure what creativity are you looking for? Cubase - is - not - bitwig. Cubase is meant to be something that hosts something like Bitwig - like - Reaktor.

Cubase is foremost a boring organizational tool - that you are creative within. It is the canvas and toolbag, not the paint. Iā€™ve created many of my favourite tracks almost exclusively by the organizational utility of MediaBay which when you think about it, is pretty much just an Excel spreadsheet.
