Cubase 13 - Any word on new update cycle?

Is there a single version of ANY program that is bug free?

DAWs are a lot different from word processors or most other software. By their nature, DAWs incorporate and/or integrate a huge variety of hardware and software products from hundreds of suppliers. And in order to perform acceptably in real time, DAWs typically must use low-level OS services, which is atypical of normal applications. Moreover, power users of DAWs often use the very latest hardware, OS software, monitors, and other devices.

It is really asking a lot to be “bug free” with all these constraints. I have a 6-year-old PC running Windows 10 with a relatively modest set of non-Steinberg plug-ins (Izotope and Waves mostly.) And a big project for me is 20 tracks. That puts me toward the simple end of the spectrum. I really don’t notice any bugs and can’t remember the last failure I had.

I don’t really think I’m going to upgrade past 12. I think I’m fine with Studio One and Logic. If they revamp the UX, I’ll reconsider, but I kind if hate using Cubase after doing so much in those other DAWs.

For anything to do with video I’ll look at DP again, now that I have a Mac… when they have another crossgrade discount. It’s a lot less bloated than Cubase.

Probably Cubase AI

Hopefully they’ll redesign the GUI in version 13, either make it look more modern or less like educational children’s app

It’s too easy to look for things to be upset about. LIFE is a miracle, find the magic again…

Ahh, I see what you did there…
L=12, I=9, F=6, E=5
(L * I) / F - E
(12 * 9) / 6 - 5 = 13

Nice work, very clever! I found the magic! :magic_wand:  :+1:

I’ll take my popcorn out and just wait here to see people chiming in, claiming the correct answer should be 108

OK, I’m impressed!

I’m gonna join the game and put my money on October. Either 11th or 18th. 2023.

Ummmm, dunno , it’s strange Steinberg haven’t got a sale running at the mo , only the Arturia stuff soooooooo , maybe , plus they normally do one last release for the current version a little before the next New Update

Today would be a good day, being the 13th and all. But it’s not Wednesday, and Cubase socks look kind of warm to be honest.

So, unless Cubase flip-flops exist (stereo pairs ONLY!), I think it’s safe to assume an autumn/winter release.

Usually you avoid to place a major selling event in the summer (vacation) months of the Northern hemisphere. I might be wrong, though.
So, chose your Wednesday from between now and 31-Dec-2023. Which one is it going to be?

All of them , a module at a time , first up the Drum Editor

hover over the project window scroll bars whilst using your scroll wheel

works on both scrolling and zooming bars (the + & - ones)

Hope that helps

Well I was thinking more along the lines of LIFE, i.e., Sun/Light, Air, Water & Earth…

I’m thinking, what if we could convert the energy from the “Cubase vNext” hype cycle into electricity?

Everytime I read, that Cubase is expensive, there’s is no mention of how many included mature stock FX plugins you get with the package.

So actually one can save a lot of money not needing to buy a 3rd party dynamic EQ, transient shaper, actually usable reverbs, maximizer, modulation FX, analyzer, vocal pitch correction, imager, “OTT”, vocal alignment, etc., etc., …

Thank you Robin_s, this could help, of course!!
But I continue to not understand why Steinberg doesn’t use the same scrolling/zoom system used by all the other DAWs!!
