i cant find any info about cubase 13, when i google it.it says
“don’t bother and waste your time”
Hello delphi
Thanks for the Oracle
Hoping what you wish for;
But I catch your drift!
Curious the assupmtion is its the DAW that is the issue - my 13900k is running sweet as with Cubase 12.
If you did your optimisation late last year then you may want to try:
- BIOS updates
- Win 11 updates after November
I run all cores, not parking, Steinberg Power Scheme, and my NVIDIA graphics card in Max performance mode (automatically changes when Cubase starts). Everything works low latency as expected - but fairly certain that would not have been the case a coupel of BIOS and windows 11 updates ago.
Hi, daw is not the issue for me like for you after optimization. I only want to say that Steinberg instead of make a statement that 12 and 13 series Intel are not optimal for Cubase12 users , they should give us optimization tabel like you wrote to me to know that it could work.
It would be less confusing for people that buying new PC right now to know that it is 13 gen. Intel still better and good choice than to go for example with 11 gen.
And I said also that in future upgrades they should work on realtime performance. Im shure there is still some place to do it better.
Good to hear its working well now for you. I only said something cause of the recent updates that got rid of some of the niggles for lots of people and the timing of your first attempt (you were brave going that early!).
You need to add a grace period as well. And then we are in late April. Im not sure that they would like to have their heavy bug fixing over summer period so might be released in late summer.
There is currently a discount campaign. But I suspect that the grace period for version 13 will only be announced * after * the discount campaign.
So that you can’t buy the next version for the discount price. But if you buy it now, as new customer, you get C13 for the cheaper update price.
This gives me the impression that Cubase 13 will not be available until 2024.
I originally had the Atari version and then started with Elements 7 again and switched to Pro version and I was updating each .5 release every December. Then they changed the cycle.
Looks like they no longer do .5 releases as of version 11. Maybe we will see 13 in November.
I hope it will be worth the wait and not have as many issues for some users as 12 had.
Personally, I only had a few issues which I blame on Windows and browsers as they always seem to be pushing out updates and cause most issues while I am working in Cubase or other music software.
I just want Steinberg to fix the offset issue with expression maps, make it possible to have different offsets per keyswitched articulation. This would be a huge workflow change for composers . Maps hav3 had no update for over a decade. I don’t care if it’s a minor or major update, but I am very tired of waiting for this fix
Makes sense!
And I hope for more MIDI remote functionality. I mean the MIDI mapping, not the Java scripting (I’m a not Java capable person).
What about Cubase 12 April and NAMM 13 April
Welcome to the Forum Marni,
12 April is a Wednesday indeed!
Cheers
I just purchased Pro 12 like 3 days ago after a month of the free demo/preview/testing. If C13 is announced 3 weeks later and Steinberg wants to charge me $150 (or even $50) for the “upgrade”, I’ll be REALLY pissed. That would be completely unacceptable IMO. Nearly every piece of professional SW I purchase includes any new releases for at least some minimum period of time, usually 6 mos minimum. What is the usual practice with Steinberg?
Hi @Shane_Taylor,
There is a grace period for those who purchased Cubase / Nuendo, Dorico, around month and a half - two months before the release of the newer version. If the next major release of Cubase comes at the beginning of April, then you should be eligible to upgrade to it through the grace period program.
Best wishes
@Thurisaz Thank you. That’s good to know!
So I think that C13 will only appear two months after the discount campaign. With a grace period of 6 weeks.
Otherwise the discount campaign makes no financial sense if you get the free update on the reduced full version.
But let’s wait and see. I think June 2023.
I guess the new Cubase should be “compatible” with the latest generation Intel CPU’s … I can imagine that involves quite a lot of testing …
Endless features such as this C12/N12 is missing. To think there’s post & music houses using this software is laughable and they should be in question. Will gladly drop all Steinberg products should 13 be rushed to release. Independent developers are doing a better job than a company over 4 decades old…
