Cubase 13 out now!

If I upgrade to Cubase 13, from 12, will my preferences be carried over?

Yes, all preferences, shortcuts, presets etc.

Thanks

Where has beat calculator gone? Anyone know that one?

For me, my controller (Artuira Beat Step) doesn’t work so quickly when I turn. It’s very slow. Actually, I don’t set the speed of the controller in Cubase, but rather in the software for the controller. In Cubase 12 it is fast, in Cubase 13 it is slow???

Tap tempo in the transport bar has been described as a replacement.

Not fully though, imo

Exactly, but a brief internet search will discover much about this topic.

Nuendo & Cubase user here. Still seems that Steinberg have not addressed the CPU load /overhead issues for any OS & many are jumping to Studio One because of the dramatic differences in load.

Really IMO, this should have been the very first thing addressed vs eye candy & plugins.

Some very nice additions in the key editor. Thanks. Would be lovely to be able to edit CCs etc. on multiple tracks at once though.

The channel tab is nice, but a bit of a bummer for those like me who were hoping for volume, mute, send, plugins, track delay etc. on the tracks themselves, similar to Pro Tools. Very much hope to see this in the future, it’s the biggest drawback to Cubase in my view.

It would be so great if in an update to 13 you could add track delay the channel tab, and make it possible to change delay offsets for multiple tracks at once using Q-Link. It would be such a big help for virtual instrument composers. It would be even better to also make the project logical editor able to change track delay for all selected tracks, by user-defined amounts.

ok, wtf. tap tempo is not anywhere near what the beat calculator is/was. they do realise this program is heavily used by the film industry right? I don’t mind 13 so far but why would you take something like this out? you just leave it there and do nothing, it costs you no time or money top leave it there.

Did Iconica sketch introduce multi-microphone recording?
And can I customize microphone preference?(close, far…etc)?

My guess is the silence is due to the fact that Dorico 5 does not have the native ability to sync to anything. Even ReWire. So I’m thinking that the big change will be on the Dorico side first (basically add the ability to clock to something). And then maybe something in Cubase to streamline that process.

For me, I’d give real money to see a real-time link between the two so that changes in one appear in the other - including controller data! But, alas. To dream…

How’s the cpu performance everyone? Any improvements. I’m on Windows 10, and 11. Thanks.

keepin’ it real!

One big big plus for C13 is they finally have it delete the project folder if you didn’t initially save it.

So if you start C13, create a new project, tool around, then decide you don’t want to save it, C13 will remove that folder it auto generated instead of leaving an empty folder like the previous 2+ version used to.

woohoo! Now if they can just address the GUI issues I’d be a happy camper.
