If the DAW is too bright and you work at night, there is also a greater risk of the police suddenly ringing the doorbell and disturbing the production.
I’d better not open the fridge then.

Also, you don´t want to wake up the light cause it sleeps in the fridge at night.
Locking the ability to change the color of the bright white menu bar behind a C14 paywall was not a cool move, Steinberg…
If you buy a Cubase 14 license you’ll be all set.
The license is valid independent of the operating system.
Unfotunately, as I prefer the more flexible way it is handled in other DAWs.
link please to this written “understanding” guarantee to which you refer
Cubase 14 is now aligned with Windows colour schemes so if you want to change the colour of the title bar, do it in Windows Settings > Personalization. This will change the top bar of the plugin windows as well.
I listed all the versions to prove my point and you still wanna chime in on something that you don’t care about?
That’s troll behavior.
So you conviently left out the party that I said it was cheaper to keep an argument going?
Again, people are just conveniently ignorant at round here just to argue.
I said what I said.
I just replied to your post as part of a discussion, get a grip for crying out loud. Not everything is a conspiracy. Plus there’s no mention in the post I quoted about a ‘Party’ or ‘Cheaper’(?!) - so haven’t a clue what point you’re even making here.
That’s called speculation… Nowhere has Steinberg ever stated ‘This is our concrete release schedule’… Stuff comes out when its ready to come out, their schedule just happened to line up with those times of year previously. It doesn’t mean its permanent or ‘policy’ in any way.
Dear Mr. Matthias.
I know I shouldn’t post this issue here.
I will write about it. I am sorry.
Please bring back the toolbox dropout menu that appears when you right click!
I am a user who has been using cuebase since 8.
I don’t know if it is a bug or a specification that the dropout menu is no longer available, but if it is a specification, I am considering moving to another DAW.
I’m not saying that you should fix all the bugs, I’m sure there are some technical difficulties.
The toolbox is a terrible thing that really slows down the workflow.
Right click to put the cursor in normal mode or time stretch mode,
It would be very efficient to be able to choose between normal mode, time-stretch mode, and even straight and curved lines on a line.
But to have to drag the cursor to the top toolbar every time you want to do that?
I hope this is a bug and will be fixed in the next maintenance update.
Yep, I agree
The dark headers actually affect my work flow. Maybe an option to change this would be a fair compromise.
I think this might be a tick box in the preferences.
Have you checked?
Wow! They say “Good things come to those who wait” My only problem. You added too many great things all at once. With all the projects I have on the schedule I have a little time to check them ALL out.
Hats off to the Steinberg software development team!
Thanks for the reply.
Maybe my explanation was bad.
It does not mean that the toolbox itself is no longer available.
I know that you can change the settings to enable or disable the toolbox.
The problem is that when I hover the cursor over the toolbox
I used to have a dropout menu that allowed me to choose whether to use the normal cursor or the time stretch mode, but that is no longer the case.
(Try hovering over the leftmost arrow icon on the top toolbar, and you should see a dropout menu at the bottom. The same is true for the line tool, where you can choose whether you want a straight line or a curved line).
Until C13, the right-click toolbox worked the same way as the top toolbar.
I’m sure this is not a bug unique to me.
Thanks for the reply!
Thanks for the validation.
I appreciate you even adding the image.
It’s not, I know that’s what you get in the toolbar at the top.
The question is whether it shows up in the toolbox when you right click on it.
I have the toolbox in the preferences so that right click brings up the toolbox.
The right click toolbox does not have a drop out menu like the top toolbox does.
Thanks. It was the ‘Title bars and window borders’ checkbox after selecting the color I wanted.
Turns out thanks to KT66 you can change the title bar color via the ‘Title bars and window borders’ checkbox in the colors tab at the bottom in the Personalize settings in windows after you select the color you want above it… The rest can be changed in Cubase Preferences. I went with solid white, it’s great now.
