Cubase 15.0.30 Maintenance Update

EDIT: @Puli 's method works as intended. I should have read the instruction more carefully
Tiny correction:

has to be the other way round:
mklink /J “D:\TonalicData\com.celemony.tonalic” "C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\com.celemony.tonalic”

The new target folder has to be created beforehand. Destinations have to be separated via space, no quotation marks needed.

Thanks Puli, but do you also have an idea, where it is stored on a Mac?

Did a search, but cannot find anything containing “tonalic” or “ceremony”.

And yes, I also searched the system folder.

Thx in advance

bsg

EDIT: I stand corrected, please, follow @Puli 's instructions (more carefully than I did…) :face_with_peeking_eye:
That’s strange, I tried and it didn’t work. There was an error message that said one couldn’t create a folder that already existed. After a quick online search, I reversed the order and it worked. Very strange, indeed…

/Users/xxxx/Library/Application Support/com.celemony.tonalic

Thanks Puli, but nothing there. Checked the Library/Application Support/Celemony/Bundles. There is a “TonalicCore-1.0.2.009.sbb” file. Maybe this one?

I’m sorry I use Windows and I don’t have any apple machine here to check. You might need to google for it.

Could be hidden?

Hi @Puli !
I stand corrected…

I checked again because one of us had to be in the wrong and it dawned on me that it was probably me…
Although I was able to create a link with the reverse order it didn’t work as intended after doublechecking. So, I started from scratch and followed your instructions more carefully. What can I say - you were right from the start… Sorry for the confusion!

I will correct my posts above accordingly!
Sorry again…

BTW: After playing around with Tonalics for another minute, the folder has already grown in size again and contains 3.5 GB of data. Exactly like you predicted :+1:

I’ve got nearly 8 gb just playing with it. :joy:

Did the google and KI, but nothing. Will ask the support. Thx Puli

To ask the KI for “cache” did the job.

On macOS, the Tonalic cache is located at:

~/Library/Caches/com.celemony.tonalic/Separations

and indeed, it is. Also around 8GB already. But when you go to settings/preferences, you can also trash it.

I tried yesterday but it didn’t.

Yup, folder content ~/Seperations, no change

Steinberg, please fix this visual bug.

Hi All,

Since I downloaded the patch, I have major performance problem with Cubase 15 Pro again. When I start the program it is slower than normal, and also when I play my projects, the software is delayed with 3 seconds no matter what I try. I have updated all my other software from EastWest library, Izotope, Motu M2 driver and windows. Anyone knows how to fix this? In general, I have performance issues when I update Cubase 15 pro, not sure why it always happens with new updates.

Thank you for your support.

Well idk what happened but since i installed C15 with all updates (15.30) im getting horrible pops mixing @2400 buffer. Is the same song i was mixing in c14 pro@240 buffer I even deactivated all the plugins and still my performance meter is peaking i did not install anything new i been using the same template with the same plugins for 2years im considering reverting to c14.

This is nothing new to me, I been using cubase since C7, I know it takes time to fix bugs etc every new version comes with new bugs. but since cubase12 it seems by the time they fix the bugs, they are releasing a new version with even more bugs. so it has been an extremely frustrating experience to be honest.

Cpu usage is out of control, cubase is not longer not cpu friendl. i think they are adding too many new “toys” and forgetting that the most important feature has to be stability .

Many friends are just switching to reaper since cubase can’t play back the songs anymore. reaper can play the same projects flawlessly cubase not longer can . many have surrendered their licenses and uninstalled it altogether it kind of embarrassing

Steinberg is too focused on selling us the new bells and whistles every year but forgot that reliability is king

I’m really hoping this performance issues can be fixed soon

If you just purchased the update I am sure you can get a refund and revert back to your Cubase 14 license.

Well done.
But oh my… why I’ve upgraded one more time?
I’ve lost hours again. bugs with macros on mac. Trying to save presets on pc, import in mac. Tried automatically and manually.
I can’t even add a command in a macro… I’m really tired of this.
Did you code with IA?

have you done a safe start and tried disabling preferences?

This sounds like an unusual problem, in which I would expect to see more users in the forums talking about it if it was widespread.

Thanks for your help.
Sorry, this time it’s my bad.
Last time I struggled so long with the midi remote and macro bug on v14 that I didn’t see I could forgot something.
My macros have some user fonctions from the logical editor, and I forgot to import them.
(That said, they should come with the profile. Or with the project)
Sorry!
