Cannot reproduce here (W11, 25H2, C15.0.5).
P.
Hello, may I ask what does this mean?
Hi,
are you referring to deleting unused files in the audio pool?
In this case, it has already been reported to Steinberg here:
I cannot reproduce this problem (Win 10/11 Cubase 14/15). BTW, the previous answer listed the Operating System, its specific built and the exact Cubase version.
Hopefully, thereās a fix, soon.
Good luck!
oh okok. thank you so much. hope they fix it soon. have you found a work around?
yes, it has already been reported. but still nothing has been done. Throughout version 14, version 15 + an update comes out and the same thing. And I bet it wonāt be corrected in the next one.
hence all the frustration.
Yes. Works in cubase 13,at least, for editing pourposesā¦
Thereās the 15.0.10 today. Letās see if theyāve fixed it
for update only.
since I updated to the latest version of cubase .0.10 cubase seems stable. I havenāt had any crashes when I delete or empty the pool.
midi mappings are remembered. Soon it is a dream. I hope itās not a coincidence.
it would be great if there was a way to purge the project, where everything that is not being used is actually deleted. certain files remain in the audio, edits and images folder.
Hi,
glad to hear that it works!
If you donāt want to remove files from the pool within your project you could as well use the backup project function to achieve the same outcome. Or am I missing something?

NOT fixed yetā¦First Crashā¦the nightmare comes againā¦
thanks for the advice. thatās the wayā¦or you know, use the version 13, I never had a crash with that version.NEVER!
@Pablin_Drummer2 and @riotpopmusic (sorry, I didnāt get back to you earlier before)
I regularly empty the trash in the projectās pool and I never had any crashes on either version of Cubase (13 to 15). So, it could very well have something to do with corrupted preferences on your system which can cause all sorts of unexpected behaviour.
Since the backup project function does work but is definetly not ideal I would suggest to temporarily disable all preference folders. You can achieve this by simply adding an underline as a prefix. This way you can go back to the previous state without risking to lose anything. Important: It is necessary to disable at least 13 and 14 to make sure that corrupted preferences are not automatically migrated again to the new C15 preference folder.
Youāll find the preference folders here in case you donāt know (close Cubase first):
Press the Windows key + R and paste ā%appdata%/steinbergā. Now, you will see a folder called āCubase 15_64ā. Rename this folder for the time being by adding an _ as a prefix like _Cubase 14_64 and relaunch Cubase. Cubase creates a new folder with the exact same name but with the original default settings.
If this doesnāt work you can close Cubase again, delete the new folder, remove the _ from the old folder and launch Cubase again. Everything will be back to the previous state.
Note:
If you want to preserve your key commands, plugin collection and other personalized settings you could create a Profile which you can reactivate at any time (profile files reside outside the preference folder). You can also do a backup and restore specific settings afterwards, too. Hereās a very handy function for Windows to achieve that.
Does this solve the issue?
I keep my fingers crossed that itās just a matter of a corrupted preference folder ![]()
This doesnāt happen to me either but Iām on Windows as, I believe, are you @Reco29.
@Pablin_Drummer2 is on Mac. @riotpopmusic, what OS are you on?
Yes, thatās true.
Maybe it is OS related, you are right. Might also be an individual system and its settings. However, preference folders can get messy on both Windows and Mac. So I though itās worth a try since it just takes a minute to find out. I wouldnāt be surprised if corrupted preferences are responsible for this kind of erratic behaviour ![]()
Guys, this has happened to me a few times on Windows. Not many, because itās the platform Iām using the least these days, but it has happened. Of all the dump files Iāve posted, at least one is from Windows.
Give it a try, then⦠![]()
Hi,
Is it still happening in Cubase 15.0.10, please?
I updated to 15.0.10 yesterday and opened Cubase disabling program preferences. My project opened no problem. But this is the first issue - I record guitars to an āinputā track and move the recordings to various playback tracks to try different sounds. So, I recorded these two parts and check them on the 1st track. But when I moved them to the next track, they still play back on the 1st track. Video
Hi,
To me, it sounds like this issue doesnāt have anything in common with the original report.
Please, make a new thread.
